this is horrifying, but what really strikes me about this is that this man felt so comfortable raping and murdering a woman, that he publicly bragged about it to his friends and co-workers, and that he sent out photos to a group text, showed her dead body to his roommate and another person, and detailed to his co-workers how he was planning on getting rid of the body, and it seems only one person, his co-worker, contacted the police.

A man raped and murdered a woman, and several, perhaps dozens, of men knew it, saw it, saw her dead body, and did nothing (other than a few suggestions he call the police and tell them she overdosed). Men feel so comfortable knowing they can do anything to women and other men will support them and protect them. All these men who knew and didn’t stop him, didn’t contact the police, should all be rotting in jail too.

A lot of y’all have a habit of making jokes of things that dont pertain to your cultural/historical/ancestral narrative and the shit is tiring, picking cotton, negro spirituals, certain specifics of trauma etc etc, does every aspect of the african american narrative seem like a mere joke? and the way y’all mock us for the things we eat, the way we talk, etc, is a weird ethnocentrism you wouldn’t tolerate if the shoe was on the other foot. (which is funny cause when we ki about it, and how awesome it is, then y’all wanna be apart of the fun) y’all have this gross habit of saying violently gross shit about things that pertain to the african american narrative and display the same fragility as whites when taking accountability, and do the white women shit of projecting it, and placing the onus on others (the person you offended) and dismissing them as sensitive, or pretending to be the victim and framing the person you angered as somehow “ridiculous” insulting their character as if you have the right to be mad or angered. doing mental gymnastics to absolve yourself and place the blame on them.

and its weird to mock us for the way we talk when y’all try to pretend we have the same personal/ancestral proximity to aave and certain cultural affectations, but folks love selective comprehension for convenience. 

stop trying to use a mere american nationality and black racial identity to recenter yourself into the ethnic identity and narrative of others as if it can be easily decontextualized.
