I have this brilliant (awful) idea for a oneshot, but since I'm shit at writing I thought maybe someone else would like to have a go: Takes place in s4 during 'the lying detective' (SPOILER ALERT): Culverton Smith's confession drug gets developed and he uses it on John. When Sherlock tries to get in contact again after Mary's death, he finds a widowed single father with no recollection of who he is or their time together (he does have haunting dreams of blue eyes and dark curls - but he can't quite figure out where he left the missing piece of his heart). I really hope someone writes this 🙏🙏🙏 (I'm a pain slut, but please make it a happy ending.)
