What is with people trying their absolute hardest to dictate how we view a relationship. Yeah I think once Kaz and Inej heal from their trauma(cause I don’t want them being traumatized the rest of their long life) they’ll f*ck like rabbits. They’ll be the horniest of the crows once they can touch each other without keeling over. I have every right to feel that way cause neither characters are written in canon opposing that view point. People healing is a real thing that can happen and doesn’t take away from your own experiences in life. But you are not me and you are not Kaz and Inej.

Guess what you can also headcanon them as Ace and have zero interest in sex or even touching at all. Doesn’t bother me at all, and it shouldn’t bother anyone else, but don’t tell me how i feel is wrong. Thats just silly. Mind your own business.

I thought we were over this nonsense already.

Inej can fight with Kaz’s cane.

He taught her how, just in case. And there is a little ribbon tied on it where she has to grip so it would have the right balance. It also works in case Kaz is injured. Inej actually does it better then him.

She was ready to beat the shit out of Per Haskel with Kaz's cane, and bury him alive and injured, during the fight in the slat.

Inej: Why do you not believe that saints are real?  Kaz: Never seen one.  Inej: Okay, I mean, there’s a lot of things that you can’t see that are real.  Kaz: What can’t I see?  Inej: You can’t see gravity. That’s real.  Kaz: Yeah, I can drop an apple.  Inej: Fuck.
Inej: Ha! You can't see love!!
Kaz: *gestures at Wylan and Jesper making eyes at each other in the corner*
Kaz: You were saying?

no because in Kaz's face of with Pekka Rollins, when he's talking about Alby and he tells him "the trick is not to love anything. your mistake was that you let someone get in. someone you'd sacrifice everything for and it makes you weak." yeah, he's talking about Alby in order to rattle Pekka, but deep down, he's talking about Inej. he knows she's his greatest weakness, and thinks that letting her in would be a mistake. that's why he pushes her away, because if he lets her in, that means he has something to lose. something that anyone could use against him, just like he used Alby against Pekka. he may not have actually done anything to Alby, but others would aurely hurt Inej. he doesn't want her to be targeted because of the things he's done, not her.

The best ship dynamic is actually just. "I love you and it terrifies me. I'm terrified how much I need you and how much I want you to need me. I'm terrified I'm no good for you and I'm going to hurt you and ruin you and I'm terrified of how I feel when you're around me but I can't bear to push you away completely because I'm terrified to be without you so now we're stuck in limbo and that's terrifying too. I'm terrified that if I lost you now it'd destroy me and I'm terrified that it's too late to do anything about it. I love you. And it's terrifying."

“He needed to tell her…what? That she was lovely and brave and better than anything he deserved. That he was twisted, crooked, wrong, but not so broken that he couldn’t pull himself together into some semblance of a man for her. That without meaning to, he’d begun to lean on her, to look for her, to need her near. He needed to thank her for his new hat.”

Unpopular Opinion: I really like the ending of Crooked Kingdom where Inej leaves and Kaz stays. It happens to me that I read many takes where he must leave everything he built to be with Inej (who found her purpose). And I think with a mind like Kaz's, with his influence, with his reputation, and his determination, he can totally take the whole rotten part of Ketterdam down over the years. And, perhaps most importantly, he might realize that this is what HE wants to do. I think what Inej says is true: Ketterdam needs someone like Kaz. What a lot of the fandom does is jump on Inej's girlbossification bandwagon and leave Kaz on a boat doing laundry while she does whatever she wants (especially after s&b S2). I think both can do great things from their respective places. Together.

I am rewatching Shadow and Bone and I have so many thoughts about the Kanej wound dressing scene in S2E3 dkwbjdorbr it's one of the best scenes in the show imo.

  1. The hesitant way Kaz enters the room, like he knows exactly that it will be hard for him to see Inej hurt and, more importantly, angry at him. He looks at the floor for a second to gather his courage before he speaks.
  2. Mirroring Kaz in the first episode, Inej senses his presence before he makes himself known. She goes still for a second, staring straight ahead, before resuming what she is doing.
  3. The trembling in Inej's voice on the line "you are gambling with our lives" because she is so furious and hurt and can just not understand why Kaz is not his usual level-headed, cold-hearted, calculated self. Kaz can be cruel and detached, but she knows how to work with that, she knows him. This is uncharted territory, and it terrifies her, especially because she will be right back where she started if this goes wrong.
  4. Kaz immediately turning away when Inej starts to take off her blouse (despite the layers she wears underneath). I am wondering if it's more for her sake or if he doesn't trust himself to keep his desire for her locked away in the dark corner of his heart where he usually keeps it buried.
  5. Kaz fighting to get out the words "Pekka Rollins killed my brother", breathing heavily like speaking those words are enough to make him drown.
  6. Inej looking at him with fire in her eyes and saying in the most eerily calm voice "then we destroy him". He gave her a reason, and this is all she needed to trust in him and fight by his side.
  7. Kaz looking up at those words like he can't believe that he heard correctly, like he has to make sure the hope growing in him is grounded in reality.
  8. The resolve in his eyes when he starts walking towards her, hand shaking when he silently asks her to give him the cloth so he can clean her wound.
  9. Inej's stunned look at his face, trying to read the situation. Is Kaz Brekker trying to take care of me? In a situation that requires touch?
  10. Her little gasp when the cloth makes contact with her skin. I don't think pain is the cause.
  11. Kaz trying so hard, but still clenching his jaw like he is biting steel, breathing fast, feeling the water rise.
  12. The look they share after "was there no one to protect you?" saying that no, they were both alone then. But they are not alone any longer.
  13. Inej's little arched brow and casual tone when she asks "do I have one?" (a tell). She wants to know if he sees her, her, who tried to be invisible most of the time. Him immediately giving an answer.
  14. Her asking him to be vulnerable with her in return. "what's yours?" whispered in the intimite air between them.
  15. Kaz trying desperately to keep his armor on by deflecting with the limp. Immediately losing it when she keeps looking at him (looking at his mouth) telling her what she wants to know, he would tell her everything, if she just keeps looking at him like that..
  16. Inej understanding even without him saying it (I want you), leaning into him.

I could rewatch this another 100 times and I would still find new things. Freddy and Amita deserve all the awards for this incredibly nuanced performance.
