Hey German speaking musical community I'm currious, what would you say was the last big German speaking musical and how would you describe the German musical landscape?
I'd say the last really big one was the Rocky musical. I heard of it even though I wasn't that interested in musicals back then, and it even made the jump to Broadway which is almost unheard of.
As for the musical landscape, I think it's pretty good, especially in Austria. The german musical landscape is dominated by Stage Entertainment though and I have a few problems with them, from their way to deal with staff/artists and the fact that they rarely take risks in their choices of musicals to the fact that their prices are way higher for less quality in comparison to austrian shows.
