Context: WBD lost the rights for all of their NBA content and any ongoing NBA contracts because David Zaslav was an absolute cunt when negotiating
It's widely thought that Zaslav fucked over OFMD season 3 by not being willing to negotiate reasonably with other streamers looking to buy the show
David Jenkins is clearly feeling rather vindicated right now

seeing people who were disappointed by david jenkins' insta post today and that is uh very surprising to me. imo this is by FAR the most hopeful sign yet. his previous public statements sounded pretty final and melancholy; today he's explicitly saying he does have hope and encouraging us to keep the pressure.
based on all my limited experience of how these things go i'd be shocked if any negotiations were past the stage of "we have a few potential buyers who seem likely and maybe have expressed tentative interest" yet. the fact that he gave us a list of them to target efforts at is a VERY good sign.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I think we need more shows that end after they told the story they wanted to tell. Not even more shows that try to milk their audience for every last cent, don't care about diminishing returns or declining quality, and no matter how long they make it still end on a cliffhanger, because there was a chance for yet another season. Quality over quantity.
THIS. I am so happy that Jenkins went in with a plan from day 1, knowing the story he wanted to tell and how long he wanted it to take. He said 3 seasons was the ideal amount way back during the S1 press junket. This isn't a show where the possibilities are endless - the story is about Stede and Ed falling in love. And a satisfying ending to that story is a thousand times better than 20 seasons.
I'm not even afraid of queerbaiting anymore, I know they would never do that to me and I trust both of them with my heart, completely.
But what I am now TERRIFIED of, is writers giving me a false sense of security.
