The ghouls with kits!
Dew's weirdly good with kits. Like, no one wants to trust him alone with the newborns because he can be pretty chaotic, but he knows to be gentle with kits. He picks them up, lets them curl their tails around his fingers and arms, and coos over them (when no one's looking).
Aether doesn't like holding the kits. He likes kits, and he thinks they're cute, but he'll watch other people holding them instead of holding them himself. It's just, he's so big, and they're so tiny, and he's worried about accidentally hurting them by holding them too tight.
Rain is the same in the way that he doesn't like holding the kits, but for him, it's more due to the fact that he's very aware that they could poop or puke on him at any given moment. He doesn't want that.
Swiss prefers to be around older kits, when they get to their toddler stage. Sure, newborn kits are cute, but they don't really... Do anything. He prefers it when they're up and toddling around and trying to mash circle shapes into triangle holes. He joins in with the games and even occasionally brings his acoustic guitar down to the crèche to play for the kids.
Cumulus volunteers as a wetnurse when she's in the ministry between tours. She absolutely adores snuggling with the kits, it's a good way for her to unwind when she's at home. The ghouls all try their best to keep eye contact with her when she's casually feeding someone's kit. They mostly fail at keeping the eye contact. Cumulus knows what they're trying to do, and it always makes her laugh.
Mountain prefers to visit the nursery late at night. He'll come in when it's just the midwives there, when he can't sleep, and he'll ask if there's any preemie kits that need cuddle therapy. The midwives always seem to find a kit for him to cuddle.
Cirrus will hold a kit, but she's not 100% comfortable with it. Cumulus will hand her kits to hold while she gets set up for a feed, and both Cirrus and the kit will look at each other like "Glad to know that we're both uncomfortable with you holding me."
Sunny loves kits. Loves, loves, loves them. She gets so excited whenever anyone recommends a walk down to the nursery. She'll stand for hours with her hands pressed against the window of the NICU, watching in at the tiny kits, chirruping at them even though they probably can't hear her.
Bonus:
Copia hasn't held a lot of babies in his life. He didn't tend to have friends or family that were having babies. He'd held a few babies from the previous Papas' prime movers, but once you've held one baby, you've held them all, really.
However, a ghoul kit wasn't a human baby. Cumulus gave him his first kit to hold. They were heavier, yet about the same size as a human newborn. They had tiny horn nubs and a little tail that wrapped around his forearm as soon as they were settled.
They gristled, then let out the softest purr Copia had ever heard. They were warm, and soft, and just... Perfect.
Copia liked holding ghoul kits.
