➸ The Bicycle

"Life is like riding a bicycle: you don’t fall off unless you stop peddling."

First called the Dandy Horse, the bicycle was invented by Baron Karl von Drais. However, many engineers contributed to the bicycle as we know it today. The 1890’s was referred to as ‘The Golden Age of Bicycles,’ due to advancements such as coaster and hand-operated breaks. By the turn of the century, the bike was a very important medium of transportation, just before the invention of the automobile.
