Price
Vincent Price and Gene Tierney in “Dragonwyck” (1946), directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
Based on the book "Dragonwyck" by Anya Seton.
I watched this film this evening with my daughter - I hadn't seen it in years - and found it quite entertaining. Gene Tierney is exquisitely beautiful, as she always was in films like "Laura", "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" and "Leave Her to Heaven". Vincent Price is fairly early in his career here and was everything you could wish for in a handsome & brooding, darkly romantic villain. The movie is a very well-done atmospheric gothic with lots of style. If you haven't seen it, I think it's worth your time - especially if you're a fan of classic gothic mystery-romances.
