Relationship(s): Solangelo Word Count: 68.7k Summary: When Will ventured into the underworld for the first time, he was hoping to find his sister. He did not expect to find Nico di Angelo. After the tragic death of his sister Gracie, Will Solace hatched a plan - go to the underworld, seek an audience with Hades, and lead her out of the underworld just like Orpheus had tried before him - but his attempts were immediately waylaid by Hades’s mysterious son, Nico. What started off as a rivalry shifted into something more, and soon Will found himself dropping by the underworld every week to spend time with the boy who stole his heart - and whose heart he may have stolen back. There was just one problem: Nico couldn’t leave the underworld and Will couldn’t stay. Despite the insurmountable odds, Will was determined to make a relationship between them work - if only he could find a way to get Nico out. maybe a controversial opinion but nico di angelo isn’t as tortured and edgy as some fans want him to be…like obviously he Is but he’s not defined by that. he’s defined by his relentless determination to survive and heal and grow toward the light. like that’s a pretty major thing about him. nico is for the hopepilled recoverycels. if you want a fucked up tragic character whose pain consumes them luke castellan is right there. if you want a tortured child of hades who never gets to heal and whose story is defined by tragedy bianca is right there. but i believe portraying nico as mired in inescapable anguish is an unfortunate misinterpretation

the potential of nico and minos as a comedic duo really needs to be explored more. you have this centuries-old evil ghost and the angry emo 11-year-old he’s trying to mentor (manipulate into doing his bidding). the evil ghost is unsuccessful in his attempts to turn the 11-year-old evil and then the 11-year-old steals his job

#they are THE tragic doomed siblings#their lives are so completely tied to each other and suddenly one of them is gone#and the other is left to reconcile with what their life means without their other half#and their relationship is so tragic from both angles#from nico’s pov he lost the only person who had been looking out for him his entire life. his only link to his childhood#and his feelings about her are so complex because he loves her more than anything but he’s FURIOUS at her for leaving him#and from bianca’s pov she’s been forced into this role of Big Sister that she never wanted and she never got a single break#and then she finally gets the chance to let go of that role and be fully free as her true self. and then she dies#and HER feelings about NICO are so complex because she loves him more than anything but she resents being relied on all the time#i made myself sad goodnight#text#my post#bianca

bingo!!!! i originally felt neutral on the ship but it’s slowly shifted to mild annoyance due to some people in the fandom being weird about it in regards to canon. it is impossible for me to see them as anything romantic i’m sorry
