Osblaine Week Day 1- Underrated Scene

I love this scene so much. It is the first time we are seeing them together after they slept together. The longing is so palpable that it feels electrifying to me. It's as if they both have come alive through this brief touch of their hands.

Osbaline Week: Day 1

I didn’t realize it was Osblaine Week so sorry if I’m on the wrong day but I saw a bunch of different posts on my dash and wanted to join in:

The Moment That Made Me Ship.

I knew I was going to ship Osblaine before I shipped Osblaine. What I mean is, I am very big on gazes and stares and there were so many gazes passed between Nick and June that made me react to them because one word that you can use to describe Max and Lizzie’s chemistry unironically is: stirring. And every time they would look at each other, it was like Nick would simmer and something in June would stir and that was incredibly compelling to me but I didn’t really think too much about it because I was like, is this something I would be OK with shipping?

And then 1x06 happened. This scene happened:

and I was done for because they had sex in 1x05, yes, it’s this release, it’s this passion put into action, it’s this enactment of agency and it awakens/reawakens something in June and Nick, that’s fantastic, but then it’s the next day, when they have to live with this thing that they’ve done and they have that stolen moment in the hallway and it’s just brimming with tension, with the agony of touching but not touching freely or as much as they want to plus the memory of the night before and then they abruptly have to part, the fact that that moment is stolen at all is indicative of why any intimate contact between them is dangerous.

Then later on, Nick has to go and get June because Fred wants to see her, which is another indicator of why any intimate contact between them is dangerous. But Nick just can’t help it, the danger is just not enough to keep him from touching her and being with her the way he wants to even for a moment so he presses her against the wall and they’re just simmering.

And June knows this will make it more complicated, that being with him, being touched the way she wants, being wanted the way she wants, will make the horror of Fred even more intolerable

but she just can’t walk away, she just can’t stop herself and they simultaneously save and torture themselves with this passionate, hungry, breathless kiss

before she has to tear herself away from him.

I absolutely live for that shit.

And i posted this the very night I watched it:

thank you @colleenwing for the gifs!

OSBLAINE WEEK 2021: DAY 1

The moment that made me ship them

From the start, I liked Nick - I thought he was gorgeous - and I liked the idea of Nick and June together. I thought their little flirty interactions were cute and even when they finally had sex, yes it was unbelievably hot, but I wasn’t a die hard shipper yet until....
The scene where he pushed her up against the wall and kissed her with such hunger and want…the way he couldn’t take his eyes off her mouth, the way he pulled her bottom lip down with his thumb, the way June said “it only makes it worse”, the suit he was wearing - even his comms earpiece - OH MAN, I knew I was a goner, I knew I was going down hard with this ship.
There was so much risk taken with this kiss, and the forbiddenness of it. Even though no one was around, I would still consider this kiss a dangerously public kiss because it wasn’t behind closed doors, anyone could’ve walked up and seen them. This scene showed me early on how much Nick wanted June. How much he was willing to risk to be with her, to have those moments of intimacy with her. That is romantic as hell.

Hi! Forgive me about the drama lol but I love some angst. I can't stop thinking about the many parallels on the show, like Nick smoking, sitting on the stairs. I love when June tells him her real name and he says "nice to meet you June". I imagine them saying goodbye to each other and Nick saying "it was nice to meet you June". My heaaarrt. I would cry! lol (but of course they would end up seeing each other again, otherwise it would be cruel)

No forgiveness is needed! We love angst as well and Osblaine is peak angst.

Those are great parallels for sure and it was a beautiful moment of cinematography. It was great to get a little throwback to the beginning of their love story.

We love that scene from 1x06 so much! How much it must have meant for June to hear those words from Nick after being stripped of her name and identity for so long. Such a beautiful and poignant moment.

Yes, it would be far too cruel for them to not get to see each other again! We're not sure at what point in s6 that will happen, but we feel full confidence that it will and we can't wait to see it.

June did say “fuck you” to Nick in 1x06 in his apartment. But that was before they were in love.

That's right, she did say that then! It was a moment where June was understandably angry about her situation and the words reflected that frustration and anger.

Though we do think that they were in love at that point. We know from Max's interviews back during s1 that Nick was in love with June by ep 1x05. June is more complicated, but we think that she had pretty strong feelings for him by that point. Of course that early into their relationship, neither had much of an idea as to how deeply the other felt.

Nick and June's disagreements and arguments are very interesting to watch and compare with June and Luke's arguments and disagreements. We think that the way Nick and June argue and disagree with each other is a lot healthier than the way June and Luke do it. Their communication skills are better, so there aren't a lot of hidden feelings and unspoken words that make things so much more difficult and angry like we see between June and Luke.
