the US entirely demolished Bikini Atoll by testing a couple dozen nuclear weapons 60-70 years ago and its still uninhabitable for the permanently displaced indigenous residents and wildlife, not to mention the dozens of fishermen and islanders poisoned by the immensely widespread fallout radiation but people burst a blood vessel about North Korea launching a missile into the sea

We talk about nuclear warfare as a possibility, when in fact it is an ongoing process being enacted against indigenous populations not only through this sort of violence but also through the theft of indigenous land for nuclear waste disposal. Imperialism is war over a longer time frame. 

seeing folks joke ironically about the US being in a state of emergency due to various potential threats [war, bombs, natural disasters, lack of healthcare, etc] is only funny when you think of the US as solely populated by the evil bourgeoisie who’ve caused all of this — but in actuality, they are only a powerful fraction who will stop at nothing to protect themselves and others like them

so you probably won’t get to see any of them dying as you would hope, however you will see a large number of brown and black babies, women, and men dead on the street just like everywhere else
