Praise for our Richard:
“Richard is a very charismatic actor,” director Steven Quale states. “He has a quiet but commanding presence, and he brought a lot of inner strength to the character who, because he’s not the top dog at work, has had to learn to be very diplomatic. He’s a caring father, too, and he’s trying to apply that diplomacy to his home situation. Of course it doesn’t necessarily always work as well with your own kids.” from this article

I really enjoyed this film. Starts out fairly fast, bits of humor, intense drama, but the sheer fright of watching the storms, ie Mother Nature, is the most horrifying element. It might be scary because there is an element of realism when confronted with any aspect of nature in force. (For me, it was the first time I was pulled by an undertow in the ocean. Sill love swimming, but that was and is to this day, real life scary.) The director did a great job of conveying that in this film. Everyone in the cast did a good job and never once did I feel taken out of the story. The troupe of redneck dimwits added a lot of humor. I cringed watching them thinking they would die horribly every time they were on the screen. Depending on the sound quality of the theater you watch this in, could make Into The Storm a better experience or not, you might want to keep that in mind when choosing which screen to view it on. Also a perfect example of bigger is better. As you watch the tornados build, it is going to be worth watching on the largest screen with the best sound possible if you can.
