My heart…

Dear Photograph,

I returned recently to Italy in my travels. This is where I met two of possibly the most important people in my life. One was my best friend- though I only knew him for a short time, he saved my life on numerous occasions. He passed on far too young. The second, my teacher, my friend, and-as I found out- my mother. It’s been about a decade since she passed on. Both gone, but always there in my memory (and my heart). I owe them everything.
