I know not many people are going to care, but FGO’s portrayal of Nemo pisses me off. The real identity of Jules Verne’s character, Captain Nemo, is Prince Dakkar, an Indian man who lost his home and his family in one of India’s uprisings against the British. In all the stories he’s in Nemo’s motivated by his hatred for the British Empire and imperialism. FGO’s always had an issue with colorism and changing darker skinned characters but having Nemo be a little white kid is particularly infuriating.

Nemo is apparently fused with Poseidon’s son Triton, which is why he looks like That. This doesn’t make me feel better about it. TM doesn’t have to justify his existence by having two Phantom Spirits fused together or whatever, they’re the ones who decide who gets to be Heroic Spirits or not in the first place.
I also wanted to add that not delving deeper into Nemo’s past is a real missed opportunity for some really interesting character interaction, since both Nemo and Lakshmibai fought against the British in the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
