Ever since Bush, American presidential elections are the funniest shit ever, because they’re always sold as the “most important event in our country”, always with both sides claiming to be fighting for democracy and freedom, implying the other side isn’t, while attacking the other as “fascist/communist”, and it’s always just the same two red vs blue parties, whose policies can be best described as “center right and slightly more/less center right (depending if they lose)”, with no major changes whatsoever: The same shitty healthcare system, the same militarized police, the same tickle down economics, the same unwavering support for Israel, and the same military industrial complex.

Maybe some new law gets introduced, maybe some other old law gets repealed, it just needs a change of color in government to reverse any changes.

You guys won’t be getting a Bachelet, a Bukele, Mujica or Uribe anytime soon if you keep thinking it can only be the two parties.
