It speaks the truth.
that moment :D
One thing I noticed about the episode kagura is introduced in, is that she seems more adult than she is in the episodes after. She seems more down to business and intimidating. It was most likely because she had to fend for herself and fight for so long. Umibozu leaving Kagura “for her safety” did more harm than good. He left her to protect her but his departure only took away her childhood up until when she meets Gin and can be a kid, because that’s what she is. Kagura deserves to be a kid and she deserves to not have to fight for her meals every day. Gin was her saving grace, someone who could really be the father she needed. Umibozu just left with the pretense of protecting her from himself, even if he was earning money, having a father around is what she needed. With Gin, she does have her father around.
It’s such a parallel. Gin is dangerous, hes capable of terrifying things just like Umibozu, and he has no money, just like Umibozu. But does he leave? He could, he has the same reasons to leave as Umibozu. But he doesn’t leave. He knows kagura needs him, she can be a child with him. They parallel, but the curly pube hair father actually sticks around, and gives her the childhood she lost.
