i will never shut up about these games
although the second one suddenly became a little darker
It’s November very soon and I was thinking about posting a list of NWN/NWN2-centric general prompts for each day in November! (Get it? Neverwinter + November? Never-vember?) It’s tricky to figure out since not everyone has played both of the games and all the campaigns in them, so something more general you could choose from to create seemed like the best idea.
You can write the prompt. You can draw the prompt. You can do a combination of both. Comics? Hell yeah. Everything is welcome!
If you decide to do these, please feel free to tag me in each one you do so that I can give you reblogs.
This challenge is not in the least bit binding and it is by no means an obligation or a contest - you can do few, you can do all, you can even do only one if you want. It’s entirely up to you!
Day 1: your hero's home in their childhood days
Day 2: Your character meeting your (personal) favorite party member for the first time
Day 3: Your character meeting your (personal) LEAST favorite party member for the first time
Day 4: Your character and chosen party members lounging about at camp or in a tavern
Day 5: An embarrassing situation during an adventure
Day 6: your character's final (or most recent) positive memory from their childhood home
Day 7: Meanwhile, in ____... (this is your chance to write/draw the "other side" or the "b-plot" while your character is off doing something else!)
Day 8: The most impactful event your character went through
Day 9: A party member finding a way to cheer up your character
Day 10: The moment your character formed a (romantic OR friendship) crush
Day 11: Something little-known about your character revealed
Day 12: Your character or a party member is caught red-handed! (By whoever you like, doing anything)
Day 13: Your character saying something they end up regretting later during an argument
Day 14: Your character in a lesser-known location in the games (because some of those places need a little more love) (from the illustrious malgriff)
Day 15: Bridging the gap between campaigns if you keep your hero through any of them (even the lesser-known campaigns) (from the ultimate jorvach)
Day 16: Your hero or one of their party members in therapy (from the fantastical fable sage)
Day 17: Wrongly accused of something they didn't do (you can go with the obvious or not if you like!)
Day 18: Long-term consequences (of politics, society, inter-personal relationships, etc) (from the beauteous the-great-elwisty)
Day 19: Your character stuck with the most annoying party member
Day 20: Unexpected middle ground
Day 21: "Just in case we don't make it-"
Day 22: If Volo (or a newspaper like faerunian TMZ) did a news report on something your hero did (inspired by the wondrous malgriff, songofmadness, and lergahin)
Day 23: Uh-oh! Your hero (or party members or both!) suddenly got affected by a curse which turns them back into children for a day. How do they react or cope? Who looks after them? (from the stupendous songofmadness)
Day 24: Doubts
Day 25: A diary entry or scene described from a side character of your choice (inspired by the glorious songofmadness)
Day 26: In ruins
Day 27: How one of your party members views your own character
Day 28: What happens to the characters long after the game has concluded? Are they still in touch with one another/are the events still relevant to them/have they moved on? (from the mysterious the-great-elwisty)
Day 29: How the adventure should have really ended
Day 30: What's next in your character(s) adventures? (from the fabbu the-great-elwisty)

Can’t believe it’s been fifteen years since this came out. I remember discussing it on the Bioware forums amidst the - imo, very understandable - howls of rage regarding the fates of the OC companions.
MotB art that got lost in the sauce since I just realized I never posted them here.
TARVA MULTIPLES OF EIGHT
what is this, a Maths class? I thought you loved me
8. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it?
It sounds a bit peculiar to say that someone's biggest flaw is 'hero worship'. But Tarva is stubborn, a little bit short on flexibility, a big old guilt complex and very emotionally guarded, which is what happens when you blindly do your best to pattern yourself on a grieving widower with a nasty load of PTSD and survivor's guilt - and succeed pretty well.
Her friends and time in the wider world helps soften some of her own attitudes, and she learns to take advice from other sources. However, I think she is fundamentally unable to criticise Daeghun, or to realise that trying to be him isn't a good idea.
16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like?
Tarva's classed as a fighter/weapon master, who's spent a significant time traipsing up and down the Sword Coast fighting things, and then back and forth across Rashemen. She's basically skin and bone and muscle.
That said, in the fic that would have crossed her over into Kirkwall, the demon that would have nearly swayed her was a sloth demon. By the end of Mask, she is bone-weary and half dead, and more than almost anything else, she was tempted to just stop fighting and rest. (is this relevant to the question? maybe not. is it the only place it will probably ever be mentioned? yes)
I don't think West Harbour did sports, apart from the Harvest Brawl. Which, now that I think about it... Tarva is very good at her fighting and takes pride in it, but I don't think she enjoys it? Although she certainly appreciates it as a distraction from troublesome thoughts at times... Anyway, almost certainly not a brawl; she's a small woman and needs the weight and momentum of her scythe to really be effective.
24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like?
"You want me to describe Gann? I'm not sure he'd ever forgive me - he does it so much better. But I think I may safely say that he is ridiculously vain, with almost every reason to be, but more steadfast than he would ever give himself credit for being."
32. If your character’s lover offered to take them out on a dream date, what would they want to do?
I mean
I meeeeaaaan
Jade, this is Gann-of-Dreams we’re talking about. When the man says ‘dream date’, he means it literally. He’s also a a lot more imaginative than Tarva; while he can shape fantastic dreamscapes - and does - all Tarva’s asking is to be with him. If she’s feeling particularly wry, she might add ‘somewhere nobody’s trying to kill them’.
40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others?
I don’t think so? She’s such a self-repressed person that she doesn’t have many hobbies, let alone the type she would feel guilty about having. I kept thinking about this for so long I’m almost sure there has to be something, but if so, I can’t fish it out.
48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious?
After all they’ve been through together, I think Tarva’s too secure with Gann to be easily made jealous. Moreover, although it’s difficult to gain her trust, it’s complete once given and not easily lost. Besides, there’s the Dreamer’s Heart - depending on how you read the flavour text, it creates an empathetic bond between the two. A bit harder for Tarva to feel jealous when you know, beyond any possibility of doubt, exactly how Gann feels about her.
The days and nights began blurring into one another. Too anxious to sleep, worried the hunger would have no one to leash it. Zelda offered to take the first watch again, not noticing the worried looks from Gann, Okku and Safiya.
A little after midnight, Zelda felt herself swaying a little, and nearly falling back off the rock she was perched on. She stood and paced a little to try and stay awake, passing the small pot that had been brewing coffee most of the night. Seeing it empty she huffed and went back to pacing.
Her senses felt dulled, like she was laying at the bottom of a river and looking up through the water. She shook her head to try and clear the feeling but it just made her dizzy and misstep.
It was dark for a moment and her vision refocused and she was looking up at the stars and some clouds rolling by. A trickle of dampness rolled from the corner of her eyes and back along her temples into her mane of hair. Must be raining, surely?
Something vaguely lighter than the sky entered her field of vision and she was having a hard time looking for finer details.
“What are you doing to yourself?”
The voice was distorted, sounding both far away and louder than thunder.
She winced, and felt the hunger stir, quickly curling up to keep from losing control.
The figure above her moved around to kneel beside her. However the strange distortion going on made it feel like she was being constricted by this snake like entity, and out of reflex she tried to fight it, her sword was out of reach but a gauntleted punch would hurt just as much.
The figure grunted, vanishing from view for a moment before it came back, pouncing on her and pressing her shoulders into the ground.
“Why did you aim for the face? You must be really out of it.”
She recognised the voice but it wasn’t matching with the serpent, no it had limbs, too long it was stretching up into the sky now.
“Zelda!”
She blinked, and Gann’s face swam into clarity, way too close but she couldn’t move to do anything about it. Her limbs were too heavy and she was tired. So tired. So very very tired.
“No more watches for you for a while, you need to rest.”
She tried to protest but only managed a small growl.
“You’re going to be difficult aren’t you?” He asked, reaching into his pocket for something. “You’ll forgive me later...just don’t aim for the face again please?” He sprinkled something over her face and after a second of struggle, oblivion.
Mask of the Betrayer really did give us 4 slamming characters and then told us we had to unfavorite one to leave at the Masked Theater because we could only bring 3 along. I think the fuck not [Opens the console to add one in by force]
Very Late Drawtober 2021 9: Gann-of-Dreams - Purple Coneflower (11)
I’ve recently finished NWN2 Mask of The Betrayer and wanted to see some fanarts of these sweet family of a shattered soul. To my surprise, there’s like 0 fanarts of either Lienna, Nefris or The Founder. Well, I guess this sketch will suffice for now. Oh, and baby Safiya forming her familiar because she’s part of that family tree as well.
Been cleaning my NWN2 folders, it looks like a hurricane passed over there, and found these screencaps from my last MotB I forgot to post.
Kelemvor: Now I know I want to help people and not further cosmic injustices, but I have responsibilities now that I'm a god and can't just tear down the Wall.
Kaelyn: [Coughing into her hand] Pussy.
Just thinking about her (Kaelyn the Dove).
Where’s the fucking romance mod you absolute cowards
