Oh and if you want to play something like Dark Souls? Don’t feel bad for using guides or looking up walkthroughs. I’ve done that to find specific items, or when something is so bullshit and obscure that I need help for it (I’m pretty damn good at it, too.) 

And guess what? My experience didn’t diminish at all. If anything it helped me. 

Use guides. Use cheats. Use item duplication glitches. Clip through the floor going 30 miles a second. Just have fun

Like…I don’t think you understand how much I love Borderlands. I may not post about it a lot, but those games are honestly some of the best, if not the best, games on the market today.

It has a shocking amount of diversity for its genre:

(The player characters for BDL1 including a black man, a woman, and a latino man.)

(The player characters for BDL2 including a bisexual man (which is shown in canon, not just confirmed by the devs), an asexual woman (who is also confirmed to be the leader), another latino man, a nonbinary person, a disabled girl genius, and Krieg.)

(The player characters for The Pre-Sequel including a disabled man, a robot, a lesbian woman (who ends up in a relationship with another woman by the end of the game), an older black woman, a millennial, and an Indian woman.)

(And I’m also including Ellie in here because she’s a fat woman who is confident in herself and isn’t made into a joke and you get to kill a bunch of people who try to make fun of her)

…and doesn’t fall into the trap of being “gritty” and “realistic” by making a bleak, beige landscape. While the world of Pandora is a hellhole, it looks honestly awesome. 

It’s colorful and vibrant, with amazing characters and it’s hilarious, but doesn’t shy away from darker moments. (Spoilers in links) 

It’s a masterpiece of gaming and everything a game could and should be.

I love everything about this post. Most of all I love Tim being described as ‘a millenial’.

Take “picky eating.” I was labelled a “picky eater” even as a little toddler. I couldn’t eat sauce, tomatoes, or have my food touching other foods. People said stuff like “She’ll grow out of it” or “She’ll eat it if she’s actually hungry” or “Tastebuds change; she’ll like it when she’s older!“ 

But the fact was, if it was a food I couldn’t eat, I literally couldn’t eat it. I’d try to eat lasagna and start crying, and gagging, and I’d have to spit it out. Guess what? I didn’t “eat when I was hungry” if it was one of those foods, I just didn’t eat. This was especially an issue when I started going to school and daycare (I eventually got a note from my doctors that detailed my Autism diagnosis and sensory problems, so that the local kids center would provide me with alternative meals. They treated it the same way they did with kids with allergies, basically.) 

Also, I didn’t “grow out of it.” I still cannot eat tomatos, sauces, and most mixed food dishes. Because I just can’t even make my mouth chew and swallow without gagging and spitting the food out. Just a couple months ago I went to grab some chicken wraps from the local taco place, and I asked specifically that they hold the sauce. But they didn’t, so when I took a bite I got a mouthful of pain and chucked it right into my napkin (gross, I know. I’m making a point here though.)

So when Autistic people, or anyone with a sensory processing related disorder, tells you that they cannot handle something-whether that means being touched, wearing certain clothes, being around noise, or eating certain foods-remember what I just said. That’s how it feels, when people willfully ignore our reminders and warnings about our stimuli and triggers. That’s what you’re doing when you touch someone when they tell you it hurts them, or make them wear that suit or outfit, or put sauce on their food when they politely ask you not to. Granted, overload is different and presents differently in everyone, but bottom line-you’re choosing to disrespect someone’s boundaries, and their medical issues, and you are hurting them when you force certain stimuli on them after they’ve asked you to stop. Just respect people, and don’t shame people for not being able to handle or do the same stuff other people can.

This is actually from when Julia Ioffe wrote a scathing article titled  Scenes From the Trump Hotel which was from Election day.

She interviewed Spencer which I will put here so you can read and heads up he sexually assaults her.

It does not go unnoticed that there is this smearing of a Jewish woman to make her seem like she is white supremacist sympathizer. Especially seeing as this same Jewish woman was harassed and sent death threats along with images of her photoshoped in Holocaust images for writing an article on Melania  Trump that was not sycophantic.

What is happening here is the willful misconstruing of facts in order malign and smear a Jewish person and to make them appear as a white supremacist sympathizer.

This is antisemitism plain and simple.

Also if you look at the date on the tweet in the first post you will see that is not even how twitter does their dates and times.

I don’t know if OP is the one who messed with the image or they got if from somewhere else all I do know is that what we have here is antisemitism.

A Spoonie's pain tolerance vs. everyone else's idea of what should be painful...

I gotta say a thing about this because it makes me so fucking angry that this sack of shit is allowed in the White House. (Infowars, not senator Murphy. He’s my senator and he’s doing awesome)

I worked with a woman whose child was in that first grade classroom that got massacred in the Sandy Hook shooting. We were all glued to the news all day and were hardly working because we all knew her kid was there and half the reports coming out of the whole thing were contradictory. She dropped everything and left to get to the school to pick him up when she heard.

She waited there most of the day. We waited in the office. One of the other ladies had her cell number and they were texting back and forth; everyone came to her to check in periodically to see what was happening. All she knew was that kids were slowly filtering back to their parents.

But she kept waiting. More children were reunited with parents. We finally heard that there was one classroom in particular that had been massacred. We also heard that some children made it to someone’s house nearby (which did happen). As the hours ticked by, the options dwindled and we realized that he was probably in that classroom and was gone, but held out a little hope that he’d made it to that house.

It wasn’t until after 5 pm, when I was on my way to run tech for a dance recital’s dress rehearsal, that we got confirmation that her son was killed. I sat in the back of the theater, watching other little kids his age practice their dancing, and cried.

They kept his funeral for family only but most of the office turned out for his wake. Surprisingly, it was open casket. He hadn’t been shot in the face or head. Have you ever seen a casket for a child? It’s fucking tiny. And they’d lined it with his favorite toys. Every single person in the room was either in shock and showing it or outright crying.

The woman never came back to work. She threw herself into advocacy work instead.

And these fucking people, infowars, have posted shit accusing the whole thing of being a hoax or set up or what the fuck ever. And people BELIEVE THAT SHIT. AND NOW THEY’RE GIVEN LEGITIMACY BY BEING ALLOWED IN THE WHITE HOUSE AS IF THEY WRITE ANYTHING REMOTELY JOURNALISTIC.

I’m infuriated. So fucking infuriated.

Anyone who believes that the terror and grief and horror of that day was fake needs to go die in a ditch. Those children died, killed in cold blood. My coworker’s child was killed in cold blood. I went to the wake of a 6-year-old boy; one of 20 others all taking place at once. Those families deserve better than this set of fucking nutjobs sending them death threats and trying to delegitimize their grief.

And now they get a louder voice.

Fuck them, and fuck anyone who believes their bullshit. And fuck trump for giving them attention.

Something horrible is happening on youtube

I’m going to preface this post with a content warning. This post is about child abuse. The video I’m going to link includes actually video footage of child abuse. It is one of the most upsetting videos I have ever watched. My post includes in depth descriptions of child abuse. 

This morning I watched a Youtube video discussing and highlighting what is happening on another Youtube channel. If you have the stomach for it, I’d suggest watching the video because Phillip DeFranco does a much better job of summarizing the situation than I can. 

For those of you who can’t watch, I’ll give you a very brief rundown. 

The Youtube channel DaddyOfFive is a combination family vlog and prank channel. In a recent video, the parents pull a prank where they pour invisible ink on one of the kid’s floors and then make him think that they believe he poured ink all over the floor. They scream and swear at this little boy, shouting things like “What the fuck did you do?” while the boy cries and cowers, looking genuinely terrified. Even the best child actors could not pull off looking as genuinely devastated as this child does. 

As DeFranco highlights in his video, although all the children are pranked, it seems that this one child (Cody) takes the brunt of the cruelty. In many videos he is seen being hit, kicked, pushed, and pinned down by his older siblings. In one video his father pushes him face first into a book case. In one video Cody begs his family to stop, saying that he’s tired of this. In another video his parents scream at him and tell him he’s the only one in the family who can’t “take a joke”. 

In response to some of the flak they have been getting, the parents uploaded a video about “Blocking All The Haters”. They goad the children into saying on camera that they aren’t being abused. Now keep in mind, the kids have been told that all the “Cool stuff” they have been getting is because of the Youtube channel. They know that if the pranks stop, the cool stuff goes away. Most of the children chime in that they are not being abused. Cody hardly says anything. The oldest boy says, “At least you aren’t beating us”. 

What is happening to Cody is child abuse. It is emotional, psychological and physical abuse. It is torture. And the worst part of it all is that it is monetized. The parents are being paid by advertisers to abuse this child under the guise of “It’s just a prank, bro”. 

So what can we do?

First of all, we can report the videos on DaddyOfFive’s channel for containing depictions of child abuse. If you decide to help by doing this, please be sure to flag the specific instances of abuse such as Cody being pushed or the parents screaming vulgarities at the children. 

Second of all, we can let the companies advertising on this channel know that we won’t be buying anything from a company that sponsors videos of child abuse. 

Finally, if anyone knows this family in person, they can make a report to CPS. Now the family is claiming that they’ve already been investigated and “cleared” by CPS, but that’s not how this works. Repeated reports mean repeated investigations. You do not give up and look the other way when a child is being abused just because CPS failed to act the first time. When my neighbors were abusing their children, I had to call CPS every week for over a month before something was done. Don’t give up.
