Oh hey, do you know what time it is? It is highly specific resource time!
Today we have the Royal School of Needlework Stitch Bank! There are HUNDREDS of stitch types in the RSN Stitch Bank.
And more added regularly, let’s look at a recent addition
I picked the first one in the 25 recently added Elizabethan stitches, the Elizabethan French Stitch
The stitch bank provides written and photo tutorials as well as a video option to learn to do it yourself. There are examples of the stitch in use, resources, references, everything but a needle and thread!
holy shit is this gorgeous.

Only thing getting me through today is the thought of Starred Egyptian Tomb Ceilings
Calming stars my beloved
I see your stars of Nefertari and I humbly add Sennefer’s grape vines
And all the patterns for the ceilings in Nebamun and Ipuky's tomb (TT181):
Or in Qenamun’s tomb (TT93):
Or the ceiling from Malqata

Rib-cage Kimono by MUTSU (2022)
mutsu has an insane youtube channel where you can watch him make these, i was hooting and hollering watching him bust out the saddle stitch machine for a sashiko effect: https://youtu.be/9HMVdWVfLAU
There is no way the first person to make one of these was neurotypical
After a vinegar bath i found a bit of etched writing from a previous owner! next up is getting the stacked handle pieces cut out and prepped
In other exciting news, I bought a little hand axe from an antique mall for $10 and we're gonna see how shiny and sharp I can make her again : )
Made some ~ impossibly tiny ~ little baby boots for my brother's friends new kid. Stay warm kiddo!
Made some cute simple infinity scarves for my sister this holiday break! The little slip stitch selvedge is so dang charming and it was a great chance to practice the kitchener stitch to finish them off. I think i've finally got it w/o having to look at a diagram now.
Wham o bam o it only took me about 2 years of on and off working on it, but here she is! Its much heavier and warmer than I was expecting and I'm amazed at how good it looks all together. I did a little crochet edge to finish it with a sc around one way and a reverse sc (did you know its also called a crab stitch??) back the other way. 1000/100 worth it but i am not making another blanket for A While.
This may be one of my favorite patterns in the bunch : )
