please put less pressure on gay people to ‘come out’ and more pressure on straight people to stop assuming everyone’s sexuality is fucking straight
Pride is important not because you love yourself but because of what it means to love yourself *when the world says you are inferior.*
This is why queer pride is a thing, but straight pride is not.
This is why ‘I am proud to be black’ exists on its own, but ‘I am proud to be white’ only exists in reply to black excellence.
This is why trans people saying they would not choose to be cis is strength, but ‘It’s okay to be cis’ is merely reinforcing the status quo.
When your very existence is suppressed, your existence in and of itself is revolutionary, and embracing that even more so.
Please reblog, I would like to this on here to show everyone the hate there is in high schools. Welcome to McGuffey High School. A boy started the idea to wear flannels to show “Anti-Gay Support”, and almost a hundred students participated. How can we still live in a world this cruel and hateful? People, including myself, were pushed down, hit, had stuff thrown at them, shoved into lockers, called “Dykes” “Faggots” and worse hateful words than that. I’m apart of the LGBT community, and I feel awareness should be spread.
What does wearing flannels even have to do with being gay?
This is fucking disgusting.
Literally nothing
