Hi, I'm Hlaalu! I've been a Star Wars fan since my parents took me to see the special editions in theaters in 1997. My college roomomate and I had a star wars "shrine" in our dorm room with all of our action figures, posters, and a yoda pillow. I've made some of my best friends in this fandom, been writing for over a decade, marketing professionally for almost a decade, and am currently praying for a live action Sinjir Rath Velus in Andor S2.

Favorite Ascendancy Character? Ziinda! I think she has the best character arc. And watching her go from the hothead in Greater Good to the only one able to calm Roscu down in Lesser Evil is just *chefs kiss*.

Favorite Star Wars book / tv show / movie? Sorry chiss fans - the Aftermath Trilogy (and Sinjir Rath Velus and Sid Uddra of course) will always have my heart. THEN it's the Ascendancy Trilogy (Sinjir/Conder OTP <3).

Why (or what) are you contributing to the zine? I'll be writing about Ziinda and probably the Grayshrike fam because they deserve infinitely more love than they usually get <3 (I also named one of my cats after Ziinda :D)

Fun Facts?: "Countess Lamont" is the protagonist in my fantasy novel! Also, I have an ISD Chimaera tattoo that I've forbidden myself from having finished until I get into the 501st (which -- hopefully soonish ... we'll see). PS: if you've read any fic on AO3 with Sid Uddra in it, it was literally all me. leia organa truly has one of the best bait-and-switch character introductions of all time because when you meet her she's this brave, stoic picture of elegance and justice and always knows just what to say to vader and tarkin and is clad in white like an angel and is this perfect two-dimensional archetype of pureness of heart. and then approximately half an hour later into the film she meets luke and han and she IMMEDIATELY shows her true colors as a sarcastic, bitchy control freak with a massive impulsive streak and a deep mine of hyperspecific insults. 10/10 character design i'm obsessed with her

I love the original star wars trilogy so much that the only thing I love more than it is rogue one

Thanks to all the authors from ao3 who decided that all young people should hang out together... I decided so too.

"Was The Alcolyte perfect, no but..." is a phrase I have heard way too many times since the show got canceled. Like, have you seen Star Wars? "I hate sand..." Star Wars? Setting up a love triangle between a smuggler and a set of twins, Star Wars? Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars, I do, but, um, it's never been perfect. It's full of plot holes, and retcons, and clunky dialog, all of the original trilogy, the prequels, the sequels, the cartoons, the live action shows. All. Of. It.

And I am tired of the fandom being controlled by a bunch of bullies, who seem to have never developed the ability to empathize with anyone different than them, that throw temper tantrums because, they're chasing the high of watching Star Wars for the first time, when they were seven, and can't, because they're bitter, critical, assholes, devoid of joy and whimsy.

The Alcolyte was a solid story. I had a lot of fun watching it, and wanted to see more. But, in the continuing horrible behavior of the damned fandom, it was bullied into cancelation. The show deserved better, everyone involved deserved better, it was bullshit what happened.
