Need Help Buying Clarinet

All righty y’all, here’s the deal.  I am currently looking to purchase a professional clarinet, and I need it ASAP as I really need to practice this summer for my Performance Track audition and subsequent recitals this coming academic year.  Most of the clarinets that I’ve found so far are $1K and up, though I have been lucky to find a few that are more around $800, but all require full payment.  There’s only one that I’ve found that offers a layaway plan, where I need to pay 20% up front, and then keep making payments until it’s paid off – then they would ship it to me, which would take too long.

So, I’m going to be asking you all a huge favor.  I am already struggling to make rent each month, and I am unable to save up for both the clarinet and rent as they’re both around the same amount.  I would be extremely grateful for any kind of help, whether you can loan me a few dollars or just reblog this post.  I FULLY INTEND TO PAY BACK ALL AMOUNTS GIVEN. This is way too important to me, and it’s way too much money to accept anything without it being paid back.  I will be asking you to send me this money over paypal, so your info will be there and I will be able to pay you back easily as I earn the money back at work.

Update 1, 6/22:  OK, I have found a decently-priced clarinet that allows me to put down 20% and then pay off the rest as I can.  With your help and some money that I already had saved up for a clarinet, we are at $239.46 / $1090.  I am so grateful to everyone who has loaned me some money so far, but obviously we’ve still got a ways to go so reblog, reblog, reblog!  Please!   :) (And I’m sorry if I get annoying with the reblogs myself, but I really need this instrument asap).

Update 2, 6/28: I am beyond thankful for all the reblogs and loans that y’all have given me so far.  We are now up to $374.24 / $1090, so still a-ways to go but this has already been a huge help.  I am going to be trying to sell a few things that can hopefully get me at least another $100, and apparently my brother has finally made up his mind on whether he’ll be continuing with music in high school (he’s in 7th grade).  He’s not, and so we have his student trombone to sell as well, which can hopefully get us ~$300. Hopefully when I go home next week, we can get a decent price for it by selling it back to the store we initially got it from.  Hold your fingers crossed darlings!  And continue to reblog please, whether or not you’re able to donate!   <3

Update 3, 8/1:  At the moment we are at $439 thanks to you lovely people, and I could not be more grateful to all your help so far.  After continuing to look for clarinets, I’ve managed to find one that is $600.  I’ve done my research, because this is a really good price for such a high quality instrument, and it’s coming from a professional music store in Texas.  Out of state, so I can’t try it out before buying, but honestly at this point, I need an instrument to play on and this has been the best deal that I’ve come across this whole summer.  So that’s what going on now darlings!  With the new goal, we are at $439 / $600.  If you can loan me something, any amount will help!  And whether or not you can, reblog, reblog, reblog please!

My Parents Are Trying To Kill Me

Kara and I just got back from my house to pick up sandwiches we were supposed to get yesterday afternoon for dinner. Like normal, my parents kept me upstairs and away from Kara for about 20 or 30 minutes to talk to me/guilt me/gaslight me/whatever.

Only this time, my mom explicitly asked if Kara was downstairs and said good when I responded yes, to make sure Kara couldn’t hear what she and my dad had to say to me.

I can’t remember exactly everything they told me because I’ve been through so much abuse with them that I get really numb and don’t deal with it well. But I was told that if I can’t get a job to pay car insurance, they’re going to take my truck away from me. I was told that I never do anything in the house, they said that both Kara and I make big messes in the house and never clean anything up, they said my dog is ruining everything and they could get rid of her tomorrow, and they’re basically trying to take my rabbit away from me.

My mom made me admit to her out loud multiple times that they do more than enough for me and that I should respect them.

I’m a mentally ill trans girl and I’ve got it really bad. I have a link to a YouCaring Fundraiser on my blog in the navigation bar, please help me this season. Help me get through this. I’ve never had a good holiday season because of them, and they always make it worse for me on holidays explicitly. I had a bad break down earlier and I’ve been getting worse and worse. I need help.

She’s definitely going to try her best to get a job and fill out even more applications and stuff but this won’t magically erase how fucked up her parents are and how much they love to fuck her up her life and threaten her.

a message to my followers

Earlier today my mother came into the kitchen and threw a a post-boiling pan of cheese on my arms.  That sounds almost humorously absurd but it wasn’t. She then made me clean up and threatened to call the police on ME saying I was being evicted. I have never seen an eviction notice but I will not call the police because I am afraid.  I did not suffer extreme burns but I am fearful for my life. My mother has a history of alcoholism and is prone to violent outbursts. She currently has a police record with 6 counts of domestic abuse, 2 counts of DUI. 

For the record, she has taken violence against me for being bisexual and experimenting with my gender outwardly in the past, and mentioned it today after I was assaulted. But in general her issue with me is that I live here with her and she hates me.

She currently has my phone and my computer is a desktop so I don’t think I can take it with me.

I’m currently safe in my room but I can’t take this anymore.

I will be gone for the next few days to be with my friend who has offered me a place to stay until my father comes home from Germany to do something about this. 

I am unemployed and I need to save up for a permanent solution to this. If anyone wants to donate, I do have a link for donations. This is not obligated and I’m not trying to guilt anyone but I need to get the fuck out of this abusive house.

Andrew Loku  was a kind, hardworking man who lived alone in Toronto. This man survived war as a child solider in South Sudan. He was trying to bring his wife and five children, who range in age from early to late teens, to Canada from South Sudan.

After years working odd jobs, Loku enrolled in George Brown College’s Construction Program in hopes of getting a better job, which would allow him to send more money back home to support his family.  After visiting his family in June, Andrew graduated from George Brown.

Andrew’s life came to a tragic and premature end in the early hours of Sunday, July 5th when he was shot by police.

Our hearts go out to Andrew’s family and friends, and to the South Sudanese community.

Please help CMHA Toronto and Across Boundaries raise funds to help with the costs of Andrew’s funeral, and to provide support to his wife and five children in South Sudan. [3]
