Gabe Freeland took some lovely photos of us at Momocon!
I brought this unused Loki concept to life!!
I’d been eyeing this stunning design by @aleksibriclot for years, and a little while ago (after two years of working on it) I finally finished it! It has all the dark norse fantasy vibes that I wanted Ragnarok to be, and I figured hey, I can make it myself!
I had to up a lot of my leatherworking skills for this one, and I dove into a lot of new skills as well to try to make all the pieces a cohesive whole. It uses lambskin leather, suede cowhide, and veg tan, as well as an entire sheepskin for the cape!
This whole costume has truly been a labour of Loki love and I’m so glad I was able to share all the madness (process) and the finished look!
It is my genuine pleasure to introduce you to the mensch, the myth, the legend,
Jewish Wolfwood was a regular sight at anime cons throughout the 2000s.
my favorite genre of photo is cosplayer out in a random place in public. and i’m not talking abt malls or hot topic and shit where you’re already more likely to find cosplayers. i’m talking abt seeing like a junko enoshima cosplayer at a mcdonald’s
ok but i don’t think any of these can compete with this pic taken by a professional photographer of just the most dejected spamton i’ve ever seen. just alone. with three seperate drinks. also this was featured on an official bbc news report
✨New Star Trek soon!!!✨ I am SO excited for Strange New Worlds! I love everyone on the cast and I cannot wait to get completely sucked into every single adventure they get into 🤩 May 5th cannot come soon enough for me!!! image description: a dark-skinned Black woman with long black hair wearing a yellow Starfleet uniform jacket with a black collar, a shiny gold Starfleet emblem on her chest, with a gold zipper down the front and 3 gold rank bands on each wrist, with black trousers. She is standing on the bridge of a Starfleet ship. The logo on the bottom right corner reads Jay Justice.
Dr. Olivia Octavius from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
(Her enemies call her Doc Ock.)
This costume was a really fun build. The arms went through two or three different iterations, but it probably took Liv a few tries as well. 🐙

This is so perfect?!?!

Some photos of my kenku costume at Anthrocon 2016, taken by @adammillerstudio! Oh boy did I ever have a lot of fun! The other raven in these photos is @qawstume and the snowy owl we are mobbing is @crystumes, who made both of the blanks that we used for our masks.
If you have any questions about this costume please check out my FAQ!
The Cosplayer was wearing a gas mask, helmet, armour and bullet belt. He was also carrying a New Republic of California flag. People thought he had a bomb strapped to his back but it turned out to be several Pringles cans painted silver.
Police were hiding in bushes and behind their cars with long guns drawn. Happened in Grande Prairie, Alberta. (April 14, 2017)
A reminder to all you cosplayers out there: be careful how you dress when in the general public. Not everyone is savvy to semi-obscure characters/designs.
This, a thousand times this.
Take your mask off, bag your props, and move with people.
Every post apocalyptic cosplay group needs a Safety Naruto. The Safety Naruto will signal to ordinary people that yes this is indeed a costume.
The concept of a Safety Naruto is fucking hilarious
Just like a buddy system except it’s a bunch of people with prop guns or bombs are each assigned a Naruto
“Who says Cosplay is unproductive?”
I come from a family who really disliked me cosplaying for a long time, saying it is “unproductive”.
My success in national competitions and event invites had started to change their minds. But what ultimately convinced them was… me helping fix shit around the house.
Today my dad’s shoe went all weird and crumbly. He was going to have to buy new shoes or new sole pads… But then I went and traced some foam, layered it and padded his shoe back up, for free.
My mum has weak finger joints. The doctors were going to charge her $200 to make her a brace. But I saw what the brace was like, and casted her one with Plasti-make, again for free. She had never struggled with her joint again.
I’d like to spread the message to parents out there: Cosplay is not unproductive. It is a form of creative problem solving. (How do make something work?)
Please encourage your kids to do something creative. If it’s making outfits from fictional characters… Then please let them. Watch them become jacks of all trades and develop their hands on and DIY skills.
