Beast Wars Transformers - Season 1 - Favorite Moments

Kind of a summary of a few of my favorite bits of episodes from the second half of the 1st season. This post is long enough, so I might do a separate one of my thoughts about the characters.

Almost finished watching the 1st season of Beast Wars! I might drop a highlight review of my thoughts, so far.

I’m actually enjoying it way more than I anticipated! Wow.

I have heard some of them say: “By the Inferno” ...not sure what that means. I guess I’ll have to wait and find out who Inferno is!!!

And you’re right! A tiger just showed up! And Blackarachnia! But I already knew her from watching TFA and I heard she originally came from Beast Wars. Dumb Tarantula went and scanned himself a girlfriend lolol!!!!

Well, I decided to try and give Beast Wars a watch! Especially after getting so many recommendations. I know for many, this is a memorable show and has been listed in the top Transformers shows of all time.

I’m 6 episodes in and...it’s not bad! I’m actually liking it so far!

Megatron is so dramatic and I love it! A+++ Megatron! Even though he is literally a PURPLE T-REX...what!!?? The way he wiggles his tiny arms evilly is hilarious!!! And every other word is “GH-YESSSSSSSS!!!!” I am dying! XDD

Cheetor is adorable, as I figured he would be. The kid of the group, but his sass and overconfidence is infectious and I knew after seeing him in Cyberverse, that I would like him.

Ratrap is such a tsun tsun. He’s even more sassy and his new yorker accent is very funny. But it’s sweet that right away, despite his complaining, doubting the ‘fearless leader’ and refusing to jump into battle, he really does care and will help out...reluctantly, but he’s a good little guy. And him being so tiny and picking fights with Dinobot, who is twice his height...omg! LOLOL

Speaking of Dinobot, I half expected him to be the ‘Starscream’ of this series, but I never expected him to join the Maximals so quickly! And I was impressed how he does fight with honor, even though his ‘Megatron must die’ agenda is predictable, he doesn’t seem all that bad really...hmmm. Plus he’s a velociraptor, how can I not like him?!!

Rhinox is a very steady character, the quiet scientist and engineer and I like how he is calm and holds everyone together when Optimus isn’t around. I have a feeling I’ll like him...

I’m sorry but...the Tarantula is gross. Uck...!

And the Scorpinok is dumb...but loyal to the one true leader, Megatron, so points for him! I guess he’s similar to Lugnut without the excessive praise.

I’m still waiting for Waspinator to do more before I decide how I feel about him. I do think his voice is funny and his bright green and gold color scheme is striking. I’m just trying so hard not to compare him to a certain digimon I grew up watching!!

Optimus is a good leader, as I expected, though he tells a lot more jokes and feels less godly than I’m used to seeing. Plus I’m still trying to get used to seeing him as a gorilla lol. But he has a nice-looking bot form, and I see why he’s so iconic. He’s much different than the classic Optimus but still has the same heart...er...spark, kind but firm leader but more big brother/ troop leader than father figure, I guess. And still without hesitation jumps into danger where others...namely Ratrap, keep doubting he will do the dangerous missions. So far, I like this Optimus. His interactions with Megatron are still familiar but MY GOODNESS Megatron is just OOOOOOZING with comic book and Disney villainy! It’s delicious! He makes me laugh soooo much!!!!

So far so good, I think this show has hooked me in. I usually give a show 5 episodes to see if it’ll hold my attention. And despite the dated animation style, the characters are all interesting. And it’s nostalgic going back to this show I missed out on growing up.

We’ll see how the rest of the 1st season goes!!

Guess I can’t take credit anymore for inventing “Shiny Megatron”! Come to find out he already appeared way back in G1!!!!!!!

*incoherent screeching*

Still watching Transformers G1. I just got to Season 2 episode 31 “The Gambler” and...oh...a new bot appears out of nowhere...

A big blue bot...

....ooh...a strong, handsome bot!! I like him!!!!

HE ONLY APPEARS IN ONE EPISODE!?!!!

Just finished watching TF Animated...what a ride!!

I...I should be happy but...there are so many tears.

Finally getting around to watching Transformers Animated! A lot of people recommended it, and now that I’ve gotten through Season 2 of Cyberverse and can’t quite find the other seasons of Rescue Bots...why not watch this very popular version?!

So far I am really enjoying it!! Has a nostalgic almost ‘Teen Titans’ feel to the animation style and overall energy. The characters are all quite loveable right from the beginning, although some of them really surprised me as being more that my first impressions.

Still can’t quite get over Optimus Prime being so YOUNG and much smaller than I expected! But now that I’m halfway through Season 2, it’s kind of a refreshing take on him.

Have a good bunch of favorites, so far. Bumblebee is an adorable speeding ball of sass, I love him and his puns! He’s tiny but mighty!!! Bulkhead is the sweetest wrecking ball and I love him just as much as Prime Bulkhead...they’re very similar actually. Lol

Ratchet is my favorite always, though in this version he is like...an actual grandpa! Way more than Prime Ratchet, who is now more like the grumpy uncle compared to this guy! But still has a good heart. I actually cried over his backstory. Poor....Ratchet!!

Prowl surprised me the most as not being a character trapped in a trope. Sure he’s a loner, silent type, but I was very pleased to see him quickly become a team player and almost...honestly the voice of reason of the team. I loved how he helped the Dinobots [they are adorable too btw, especially Grimlock. I’m starting to see a pattern here...I love all the Grimlocks!!] Also Prowl’s fascination with Earth’s nature and animals is nice to see. I can see why he’s such a favorite among the fans and why there’s so much fan art of him!!! He’s got a pretty flashy design...also because ninjas. XDD

Megatron is omg...not quite as poetic and charismatic as Prime Megatron but...not at all lacking in the intimidation department. As soon as he appeared in that 1st episode...his presence sent chills down my spine. Whoa...Even being a disembodied head for the entire first season he was the biggest threat! With some amazing voice work. [Though in all honesty, I still prefer my shiny silver Gladiator of Kaon XDD]

But so far, I think my favorite Decepticon is Lugnut....

Loyal, enthusiastic, faithful, obedient, gosh he’s got all the right stuff to be the best subordinate for Megatron. Kind of like Soundwave in Prime...but WOW he is STUPID. And I love him. His fanboying over the mighty and glorious Megatron is adorable!!!

Really liking this show so far. I had already read about 2 major spoilers some time ago when I was researching the different TF universes....but I’m going to try to forget about them as I continue watching. Not sure if I’ll make art of these characters just yet...but it might be fun.

Also Wreck-Gar is precious. A good boy. Why do I always fall for the dumb ones?

I really can’t get over how, in TFA, Megatron’s most enthusiastic and loyal subordinate/fanboy is...Lugnut.

TF Rescue Bots Re-cap Roll - (EP 2) - #3

Meanwhile, Blades is caught in a smoke cloud...too scared to fly out!

But Dani the pilot reassures Blades and asks for him to trust her.

They escape and Blades finally gets some confidence with flying!!

He’s so ADORABLE I want to smoosh his face!!!!

Dani and Blades then drop the contents of a nearby water tower onto the lava, putting out the fires and stopping the flow. And the day is saved! yAY!

And so our heroes have learned they can work together, and might as well...

Welcome to the family, Rescue Bots!

TF Rescue Bots Re-cap Roll - (Ep 2) - #2

So following Optimus’ advice, they go along with Cody’s plan to help his siblings and the Rescue Bots hang out in the basement bunker! Which results in old childhood toys getting wrecked, and some awkwardness. But of course, the best way to bond is with a CRISIS! Lava is suddenly spewing from the sewers!! The oldest boy, Kade gets overconfident and tries to fight the fires alone, only to end up in an explosion and nearly gets melted, but Heatwave steps in and save him...albeit reluctantly.

Cody then makes a call to the local genius inventor Doc Greene, who tells him where this random lava is coming from.

[Btw the first time I watched this, my brain immediately had flashes of both “Back to the Future” and “Reading Rainbow”. Because Doc Greene is i-kid-you-not a parody of Doc Brown, and he’s voiced by LeVar Burton!!!!!!  XDDDD]

So they all realize, they have to work together to save the town and stop this volcano.

Heatwave so nicely offers...only to be pouting with Kade two minutes later.

5 mins later...

Trapped in a cave about to die from extreme heat and toxic fumes. Enough action for you boys now?????
