Found some Yoshitane + Shigezane doodles that were hiding in my sketchbook!

Soma Yoshitane vigorously washed his face of dust, having finished his early morning visit to the stables. It was a cool, quiet morning, the Soma lands recently blessed with peaceful days. He then caught the sound of galloping hooves approaching quickly from the trees. A scout returning with news? Yoshitane whirled around to see a dark figure atop a warhorse thundering toward him, emerging from the bushes like a whirlwind, the dawn sun rising behind him.  A wild war-cry rang out, shattering the silence.

Unarmed, the Lord of Soma felt panic rise in his chest, as a heavy spear rushed downward over his head. Instinctively raising his strong arms, Yoshitane managed to catch the attacker’s spear in his hands, the shock of the impact rattling his bones, but the force behind it proved greater than he anticipated. Horrified, Yoshitane bared down an iron grip on the handle of the spear to lessen the blow as the invading warrior crashed on top of him. The back of his head hit the ground as Yoshitane felt the spearhead slice deep into the earth next to his temple.

Brash laughter filled the space above him, the familiar glint of amber gold eyes and fountain of wheat-colored locks danced about in the morning light. Leaning over him like a falcon with talons full, the invading warrior grinned like the devil himself.

"Date...Shigezane?!!"

“Gotcha!” the Date general laughed.
