Finally, he’s finished! Kiryu!! [from “Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla”]
This illustration has been sitting in my WIP folder for months and now he’s finally DONE! Mechagodzilla was the 2nd most voted character in my recent poll for Godzilla gijinka re-designs, and it’s no surprise. Although there are at least 3 versions of Mechagodzilla in the Godzilla universe, I decided to go with Kiryu. He means the most to me and has the coolest design out of all of them, in my humble opinion!
Setting is based on the iconic scene in the movie, “Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla”, when Kiryu is silhouetted against the setting sun after raging in berserk mode. And yes, I did make a “berserk” version for fun.

It’s been a while since I’ve attempted something with this much detail! My goal for this piece was to try and render light and shadow better in my paintings. I still have a lot to work on, but I’m happy with how this turned out!!

HI I am alive! I’m (mostly) back. I’ve got Wondercon this weekend and then I finally, FINALLY have a chunk of time where I can start working on personal projects. I’ve got so much I want to do: new art prints, shirt designs, mini comics, commissions, illustrations, this and that and this…
In the meantime, here’s some OCs: Kai and his brothers Seiya, Kazuki, and Tsukasa. Seiya is the oldest and one screwed up piece of work, Kazuki is Kai’s twin (deceased), and Tsukasa is the youngest.
