hello, I haven’t been online on this website from ages. So many of you are still following me and I think this may be a good way to let people from other countries know what it is like to live in Italy atm.
Italy right now is the country with the biggest number of people who died because of Coronavirus. 3405 passed away and I can swear to you that not everyone was old, or in a critical medical condition. 41.035 tested positive. My life these 10 days radically changed, I was one of those who still had to work since 2 days ago (luckily for some days I won’t), and the only reasons why I left my house was work and grocery shopping. Now just the latter. My mom is immunosuppressed and I don’t get close to her since day one, I go out and I’m scared I’m going to bring something home that would make her sick. Italy has a world-class health system and coronavirus is pushing it to a breaking point.
Nurses and doctor are doing everything they can, they are too tired and many of them died because of the virus. We need doctors and nurses so much that they are thinking about calling doctors who are in pensions back to work, they are sending doctors who are just graduated to hospitals to help. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR SICK PEOPLE IN HOSPITALS ANYMORE, we will get to a point where doctors will have to choose who should be saved and who shouldn’t.
There is only a way to deafeat this bitch STAY AT HOME, please wherever you are, STAY AT HOME. Even if you just had one positive case in your city, STAY AT HOME. There will be a time for reastaurants, cinemas, pubs, now you have to not underestimate everything that is happening. WE DIT IT. ITALY DID IT. PEOPLE ARE STILL GOING OUTSIDE and this is the reason why this is going to last for weeks, months.
You mostly see videos of us italians singing, we are terrified. We are trying not to think of what it’s happening in our country, it’s a distraction.

People are dying alone. In Bergamo, a city in north Italy, the Army took to other cities 70 coffins because the local crematorium can’t keep up with the numbers.
THIS IS SCARY, IT’S TERRIFYING. I only have nightmares, I miss my friends, I hate being at home, BUT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY.
YOU ARE NOT ONLY SAVING YOUR LIFE BUT THE LIFE OF ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT.
And as we say here in Italy ‘andrà tutto bene’, ‘everything will be fine’.

I made that post yesterday. look at the numbers. PLEASE STAY HOME WHEREVER YOU ARE. It’s been more than 10 days here in Italy, they told us we would be able to be back to normal on the third of april but that WON’T HAPPEN. It’s becoming too scary.
