A Michigan woman said her 10-year-old son was suspended from his elementary school, and then charged with aggravated assault, for throwing a ball that hit and injured a classmate during a game students were playing at recess.
A new video game called “Active Shooter” encourages players to open fire inside classrooms and auditoriums as a heavy metal soundtrack thumps in the background.
It’s set to be released on June 6, but a Change.org petition is calling for it to be canceled.
The game is being marketed days after the 23rd U.S. school shooting of 2018, and amid another round of the emotionally charged debate over guns in America.

The inventor of the beloved Etch A Sketch toy, Andre Cassagnes, has died at age 86, the toy’s manufacturer confirms to NBC News. Cassagnes died Jan. 16 in France.

ORLANDO, Fla. — One of the top young Scrabble players in the country has been kicked out of the game's national championship tournament in Florida after he was caught hiding blank letter tiles, organizers said Tuesday.
John D. Williams, Jr., executive director of the National Scrabble Association, said that a male player was ejected from the 350-player event in Round 24 of the 28-round event.
