Transformers All-Sparks: Nevada Friendlies

Fleshing out the other human cast to compliment the main ones, featuring some folk from many segments of the franchise!

The AU from the human side mostly begins in Jasper, Nevada, and much of the action starts in the state.

Miko and Raf are Jack's best friends. They're basically exactly the same as their TFP counterparts personality wise. Miko's a bit bummed that Jack spends a bit less time with them now that he has a girlfriend, but hey, at least he's happy!

Lori Jiminez and Coby Hansen are members of the school's workshop class, and originally came from Colorado. They bicker a lot (usually it's Lori getting flabbergasted by Coby's antics), but they truly love each other deep down. Based off, of course, Lori and Coby from Transformers: Cybertron.

Close by is Mission City, a bustling metropolis that has become one of THE places to go to pursue a career in engineering and energy.

Mission City University features such minds like Prof. Arkeville and Doctor Malto. Visiting the campus is Dr. Ezra Greene, eccentric scientist from an island called Griffin Rock.

Prof. Arkeville is a brilliant if out there man of SCIENCE. He's a master of neurology among other sciences, and thoroughly believes the validity of hypnosis technology. Has a genuine Sumdac Systems prosthetic arm.

Dr. Malto teaches culture, history and other anthropological subjects in the University. He loves nothing more than sharing the importance of passing down culture from generation to generation. Is a fantastic cook.

Dr. Ezra Greene travels America in his iconic solar car to teach the nation about SCIENCE and all the wonders of science, with Mission City being one of his stops. Has a show produced, directed, written and recorded by himself. Wows and terrifies people with some of his zanier experiments.

Sgt. Robert Epps, MCPD, is an Army veteran and man of determination and courage. He's an example of an everyday soldier engaged in a firefight vs. Cobra... and won. Now serving as an officer in Mission City's police department. He keeps other cops in line, making sure they remember that they protect and serve first and foremost.

Alexis Thi Dang. Government Intern. She aims to be hopefully be president one day, but first wants to get an understanding of local politics before aiming higher. Has a bit of a problem with her own ego due to her ambitions, but at the same time, is always trying and hoping to find the good in others.

Spike and Sparkplug Witwicky. Sparkplug is the de facto patriarch of the great Witwicky clan, and a man who has considerable knowhow in all things engineering and maintainence, from cars to buildings. Spike is Sparkplug's son, and a guy who inherited all of Sparkplug's engineering smarts and then some. Good natured and a loyal friend through and through.

Mikaela Banes, Alice and Sam Witwicky: A group of University students that stick together almost like glue. Mikaela is a car enthusiast who've made it mostly on her own after a rough childhood. The most confident of the group, and de facto leader. Alice is an everygirl who's studying history in Mission City U. She's just trying to do her best and not get into trouble. Sam Witwicky is the goofiest member of a the great Witwicky clan. Sparkplug set him straight to not be a try-hard. Being a goofy dude is a-okay, being a good person matters more.

Transformers All-Sparks: Lords of the Arenas

In my AU, gladiatorial combat is part of life in Cybertron, and can range from "glorified bare fist boxing" to "pop culture gladitorial matches" kind of violent.

In the opinions of high society, these are considered "low brow" entertainment, but for many it's the only viable path to stable employment, and remains very popular.

Cy-Kill is the master of arenas from Kaon to Iacon, both legal and less-than-legal. He prides himself as a pit fighter who rose to the top and is one of the wealthiest bots in all of Cybertron.

Overlord is the circuit master of Tarn, a reflection of perhaps the greatest center of all things military in Cybertron. A living weapon of unsurpassed deadliness, they are actually two robots in one, a married couple by the name of Giga and Mega. They combine their arrogance, sense of superiority, and fighting prowess into one super bot.

Killmaster is the champ of the Iacon circuit. Convicted for deliberatley causing a collapse in a mine, he was condemned to the pets, and proceeded to become champ by being merciless, cunning, methodical and being oh so massive.

Straxus is lord of Polyhex, not just as a pitfighter, but also its actual ruler. Ancient rules of might makes right and right of leadership allows him much leeway in one of Cybertron's industrial hearts.

Razorclaw is the champ of the Kaon circuits. Unique in that after winning his title, he just left... because it was never his intent int he first place. He simply liked the fact that Kaon produces a lot of warriors and malcontents that make for good foes, but now only visits occasionally to fight challengers and would be usurpers.

Transformers All-Sparks - Intellectual Heavyweights (and two exceptions)

Happy Halloween for those where it's still October 31st!

Continuing my Transformers All-sparks AU, featuring some of the brightest minds in all of Cybertron. With the exception of Lt. Starscream and Terrorsaur.

Senator Starscream is a RESPECTED politician and member of the Cybertronian Senate. A master of many sciences, but found his love with political sciences. He is manipulative and gifted with much charisma, but is also prone to ill-temper and impulsiveness. Has three sons, and disappointed in each for not being the perfect successor for his political dynasty.

He named all his sons Starscream because his ego demanded it.

Lt. Starscream is the brute of the family, and is only his mind for all things military. He is here to show he's the best jetbot around, and show off his aim. He is mostly based off Bayverse Starscream (aka Doritoscream)

Youngstar is the scientifically minded son. He simply just seeks and wants approval from dear old dad. Has a close friendship with a member of a Jetfire from the Skyfire Clan. He is mostly based off Armada Starscream.

Terrorsaur is the youngest son who so desperately wants to prove his worth to his family, and even changing his alt mode (with some help) just to prove a point that he can succeed even in his new alt mode. This only angered the Senator.

Cryak is Starscream's mother. A love of myth, folklore and ecology, but believes she failed as a mother due to Starscream's enormous, all-encompassing ego.

Termagax is THE most well known scientist of the age, building great wonders and even figuring out the process of combination completley independently. Tends to move on and throw away works that, in the eyes of any other Cybertronian, would be considered a gift of Primus himself. Has a strained relationship with her son, Megatron.

Jhiaxus is old. REALLY old. So old he probably was responsible for establishing much of the great centers of learning. Considered a has-been whos position of Cyberton's greatest mind is taken by Termagax.

Tarantulas is perhaps the greatest mind of CNA analysis and biology. He is also someone you don't want to meet in a dark alley. The man is considered dangerous by other scientific mind. Helped Terrorsaur with his new alt form out of altruism, honestly!

Transformers All-Sparks: The Main Humans of the AU.

The central humans of my AU. Though waaaay ahead in the future chronologically speaking from when the Autobot vs Decepticon civil war actually begins, I still feel appropriate to share... plus a hint of what also crossovers with this AU.

Much like how on Cybertron this AU is a family drama inolving the Paxes and Carcers, the human side is of two families connected by two lovers...

With the added bonus of two agents stuck with each other and keeping an eye on a certain former G.I. Joe.

Jack Darby is a typical high school boy who is unsure of his future and has his soul thoroughly sucked out by the horror of the almighty KO Burger. He loves his mom, and his girlfriend (who most people consider wayyyyy out of his league) Sierra brightens his day. Though he doesn't lookit at first, he's quick thinking and resourceful. A natural survivor.

Sierra O'Hara is the most popular girl in school, has good grades and the local cheer captain. Though at times she can be sean as a 'mean girl', it's a defense mechanism, as she's not the most trusting person. Those who DO earn her trust and friendship find a completely different person. Curious and excitable.

She has a deep interest in chemistry and engineering, and feels at home in a fast car or riding (and working on) motorbikes. For whatever reason, she feels a connection with anything equipped with an engine.

Agent Simmons and Agent Fowler are the local secret agents. One is a member of a mysterious org known as Sector 7, and the other a liason between several government agencies. It is their job to keep an eye on one Shana O'Hara, the local baseball coach. She IS after all, Scarlett, one of the best of the best among the now mostly retired Joes. Unfortunately for them, she prefers to live a peaceful life as a civvie, thank you very much.

June Darby is a close friend of Shana and helped the retired vet get the hang of life in Jasper, Nevada. She's just a concerned mom who's worried about her son's future. She's a nurse, and knows all about how life is a precious thing, and wants her son to have a long and fulfilling one.

Transformers Allspark: Prowl and Barricade

Good cop and bad cop, relatively speaking. Two members of Cybertonian law enforcement with two views of what a lawman should be.

Prowl believes that the law should be respected, and force may be applicable when needed, but he believes first and foremost that deescalating a situation should be a priority. There's more to proper police work than simply the guy that arrests people. A proper police bot should be one that looks out for the people he protects and serves. Prowl may be the junior partner, but that's mostly due to circumstance than any lack of competence. Recruitment for law enforcement has been quite thin in recent years.

Barricade is known for two things in life: Being more than happy to apply force as a first resort, and being utterly incorruptible. You can't bribe him, and he'll beat you to paste if you try to, and will then arrest you as an afterthought. He's lived the life of a law man, and has seen the awfulness of the commons and the wealthy, and rationalizes his brutishness as "the only way to make people respect, is that they should fear you first." He was once like Prowl, but he sincerely believes, with enough time, Prowl will learn to accept the truth as well. Cybertronians are a tribalistic, self centered group of people, and the law should not care for the tears of the unlawful.

So yeah, in my AU, Cybertron has localized law enforcement, so the Elite Guard and other such entities are that: Elite Guardians deployed only when situations call for it. Prowl and Barricade meanwhile are just the regular joes so to speak.

Transformers Allspark: Megatron's and Codexa's Work Buddies.

So my AU finally has name: Allspark! A reflection that it's a story about family, generations and the legacies that come with.

This post is focusing on Megatron's and Codexa's work pals.

Megatron is a miner in one of the most productive places for Energon in all of Cybertron, while Codexa is an archivist in the Temple of Primes.

From Megatron's side:

  • Jazz: Logistics officer. A bundle of fun, and lover of music and culture. He has a rivalry with the killjoy of Soundwave.
  • Soundwave: Communications officer. The guy who's responsible for everyone commnicating with each other. Lover of excellence, but also thinks Jazz is an annoying sh-t.
  • Brawn: DA BOSS. He's the manager of this entire unit. Small in size, big in personality, mightier than most bots. Respect his authority.
  • Blackout: AKA THE BIG GUY. The man who transports Energon in-and-out. A giant of a man with a strong sense of comraderie.
  • Shockwave: Former senator and scientist, but got empurata'd for reasons unknown. Thankfully his personality is still intact, however he's doomed to be a glorified processor. Suffers constant boredom and annoyance.
  • Lugnut: Lugnut is Lugnut. Not bright, but acts as security to make sure nobody is thinking of doing anything rowdy. Loves his job.

From Codexa's side:

  • Mistress of Flame: Speaker of Solus, and the primary teacher of the ways of Solus Prime. Aloof and none-too-personable, but can be inspiring when need be. Her presence on Cybertron is a signal of Caminus' interconnectedness with the home world.
  • Dai Atlas: Calm, Steadfast, and one of the mightiest warriors to ever live. A lover of peace who makes sure that his temple is a sanctuary for others.
  • Cyclonus: The professional Unicron's Advocate, a woman with knowledge of all the holy texts and philosophical tenents, and it's her job to poke holes in each, thus ensuring that society never takes one philosophy too seriously.
  • Star Saber: THE Paladin of Prima, who holds the Compendium of Prima, a holy book that talks about the life (and failings) of the great Paladin of Primes. Wise and powerful, but also witty with a sharp tongue if needed.
  • Tigraton: Originally a pilgrim who came to the temple to be closer to one of Onyx's relics, decided it was better to stay as an advocate for beast formers everywhere. Deeply spiritual and introspective.
  • Pyra Magna: Temple Guard, unusually more cynical in comparison to the others. She has seen much, and hasn't done prayers in a long while, but the Custodians of the Temple of Primes are family and she'll do anything to protect them. Anything.

Transformers AU: Mentors, Friends and Idols.

Continuing my Transformers AU, featuring some of the people close to Orion and Elita.

Red Alert, Ratchet and Arcee are collectively known as "The Nice Medical Ladies across the Archival building".

They're an entire family unit of gay robots.

Ratchet is by far the oldest, and the matriarch of the family unit. She's also the oldest robot of the same generation as Megatron and Codexa. She may be a grouch, but she is also full of wisdom.

Red Alert is the rapid response medic. Less strict than Ratchet, but tends to be short on conversations outside Medical matters.

Arcee is Ratchet's primary apprentice and basically was taken in as the closest thing she has to a daughter. Diligent and studious, but with an occasional wild side (and surprisingly good hand-to-hand combat skills).

Orion's Pal Wheeljack! Among visitors to the Archives he's one of the most frequent… because he's always "drinks knowledge as one would drink energon". Most of the knowledge he seeks is for his zany experiments range the gammut of harmless to "this can blow up a mountain". Perhaps Orion's most loyal friend, second only to Elita.

The Jetfires of Clan Skyfire: Three generations of robots serving as warriors of the sky as part of the Cybertronian Elite Guard. They're Elita's idols, and an exemplar to all flying robots out there.

Jetfire the Elder is the biggest and the funniest (outside of service). Jetifre is the most professional of the bunch. A knight in battle-tested armor. Jetfire the Younger is the smallest and brashest of the bunch. He has a need 4 speed.

Leader-1 is Elita's flight instructor on the Cybertronian equivalent of weekends, and a local commander of a crack team of air transformers known as "The Guardians" in most days. Inspirational and brimming with self confidence. It's because of her Aerial has the code name of Elita-1!

So, after watching Bumblebee and LOVING it, it also made me think about something... Bumblebee managed to execute having a female main protagonist FANTASTICALLY (something achieved only by Transformers Animated’s Sari Sumdac), so I thought “how would other Transformers shows looked if they focused on female human characters as well? Especially if they were underutilized”. (Also an excuse to draw in a different style).

You see, when I was in high-school it always irked me that, in TFP, we were introduced to Sierra and the show promptly forgot about her roughly halfway through its run, because she looked like she might break away from a LOT of the common high school cheerleader stereotypes in cartoons at the time after Speed Metal aired.

Plus I liked her character design, I mean c’mon, she had a spiky ponytail.

So I decided, “Say, if I were to make a TF cartoon/comic, how about I’d make HER the human protagonist instead?”

  • So instead of just making her a satellite love interest to Jack, I interpret her as actually tries her best being a model student, and has a strong interest in chemistry, and would absolutely fascinated with trying to figure out what exactly is energon composed of given the chance. As the head cheerleader of Jasper High, she leads a very active lifestyle.
  • However, because of the pressure of being the model student, she relieves stress by having an interest in more dangerous after-school activities, like illegal racing (as shown in the episode Speed Metal)
  • After the initial shock, she’d actually be real fascinated by the concept of giant robots duking it out with other giant robots. Much to the surprise of Jack.
  • Regarding Cybertronians, she’d love to know more about their society and how they function, not just because they’re giant robots. Since she has an interest in cars, I imagine she’d also be interested in how the inner workings of Cybertronians are like.

To compliment Sierra, I also wanna give attention to an under-utilized character in Transformers, Elita-1. Ever since I watched her in the original cartoons for the first time as a lad, she became one of my faves. Then I was disappointed, that, for the most part, her appearances were relegated to comics, and in TFA she became a villain (not hatin’ I LOVE her characterization there, I just miss heroic Elita). I became MORE motivated to try my hand in designing my own version of Elita after reading @robotsandramblings‘s post here.

So here, if I were to make my own TF series, I re-imagined her as a mix between of her original G1 counterpart and her IDW counterpart (with a design taking major inspiration from her 2018 Power of the Primes toy), with some personal flavors:

  • Just like Optimus she’s a powerful warrior and leader, basically his equal in Autobot command, but whereas Prime is more diplomatic, while Elita usually prefers the more aggressive route.
  • When she was forged (I interpret her here as a citizen of Kaon), her chassis was colored pink/purple... a sign of bad luck/bad omens as it is the color of energon. She wears it with pride however, and much like many an Earth-animal, the bright color’s a sign that’s she’s not to be messed with.
  • Just a like her IDW self, her helmet’s missing a few bits on the right side (after a lengthy fight with several ‘cons), and she never fixed it. It’s a symbol of pride for her.
  • Just like in G1, her Conjunx Endurae is Optimus, whom she still calls Orion for nostalgia’s sake.
  • It was particularly scandalous because Orion Pax was the “good cop” and she definitely isn’t in this re-imagining.
  • She loves a good melee.

Beyond this, I don’t have much more to tell, besides perhaps Elita acts as the Autobot’s vanguard, arriving first to Earth before Optimus does to root out possible Decepticon activity.

...Also an excuse to finally show how big my interpretation of Blackout is for y’all.

TF Redesigns: Megatron’s “Most Loyal” Lieutenants

So I watched Bumblebee and I loved it. So much so that it got me back in a Transformers mood, and prompted me to complete one of my pieces, alongside updating my other one before it. (After fixing a spelling error, for some reason it no longer appears on the dash, even though the WIP version does... Oh wellz). Also because I felt like including the Big Guys (Blackout, Lugnut and Shockwave) would fit the theme of the piece better :).

Now onto the Redesigns themselves. All the way back since last year, I thought I’d take a crack on how I’d do TF stories if the opportunity was given to me, and what better way to start than drawing some Decepticons?

From here on, I decided to mix elements from almost all TF lore that I can find... With the biggest influences going to Transformers: Prime, the Movies, and the IDW G1 comics. So here goes nothing (and also, prepare for Long Post)

First off are the True Believers of the Decepticons cause.

Soundwave: The First Follower

Megatron’s very first recruit, and the most steadfastly loyal to his cause. He is chief communications officer, and the head of the Decepticon Logisitics and Intelligence Division. It his job to collect information from the enemy... and “friend”. He keeps a watchful eye on all major Decepticon factions, and because of his closeness to Megatron, is considered untouchable by everyone else... even Starscream fears Soundwave’s influence.

Soundwave of Nyon was once a poor, derelict Cybertronian living amongst the slums and alleys. Forged with the ability to hear the wavelengths of others, he almost went mad with hearing the thoughts and ceaseless babble of others. It was only in the gladiatorial pits where he felt he could hone his power to something useful...

With his power in control, he looked at Cybertron and was convinced that the society and legacy brought upon by Nova Prime (aka Nova the Conqueror/The World-Burner) was unsustainable, and eagerly joined Megatron’s cause during his gladiatorial days - For Megatron wanted to bring true equality to Cybertron.

No Functionist Council of Thirteen to lie to the masses, no Power Hungry Senate... Just Bots in control of their own destinies...

Tarn: Head of the Justice Division

The most ruthless enforcer of the Decepticons. Betray the Cause at your own peril.

Damus of Tarn was forged a Point-One Percenter with terrifying abilities. When his voice reached a certain pitch, he can disrupt the Sparks of others, causing them to “give out”. Feared by all, even when he didn’t mean want to be, he was an outcast in Cybertronian society, and even underwent Empurata after accidentally angering some Senators.

It is little wonder then, that Damus become enamored with Megatron’s manifesto of reform and equality... And when reform became revolution to topple to corrupt Senators and their bootlickers, Megatron allowed Damus, now Tarn to unleash his darkest wishes upon his former tormentors.

As the head of the DJD, everyone is terrified of him, and even the other’s amongst Megatron’s inner circle gives him a wide breadth. If anyone so much has a whiff of betraying the cause of the Decepticons, then they get on the list... a practical death sentence.

As a fighter he unrelenting and immensely durable, with a tank mode and two fusion cannons attached to his arm, there are very few things that can get in the way of his presence.

Mega-Empress: The Apostate of Caminus

Solis Umbra of Caminus was once a member of the Way of the Flame, but has long sinced renounced it in favor of the Decepticon philosophy. While others lead through fear and terror, she maintains the loyalty of the rank-and-file in the way of a priestess... By inspiring devotion to Megatron and the belief that Megatron’s way is the closest to the meaning “Til All are One”. Though she acts as a glorified counselor and guide to new members of the Cybertronian cause, she is no slouch in a fight... Her axe, Judgement, is a testament to that fact.

The only one of the group from a colony world conquered by Nova (who promptly passed away shortly, thus leaving the world in the dust and fighting for survival), she longed questioned the divinity of the Primes and the Way of the Flame, for if the primes were truly divine, why did the latest “heir” stripped mined Caminus of already precious Energon supplies and hopped somewhere to find a new conquest for the burgeoning Cybertronian empire.

While on a mission to spread the Way of the Flame to “The Home Planet” as Cybertron was referred to, she was crushed to find out that, for all of Cybertron’s splendor, it was rotten in its core. Abandoning the Way of Flame and the Divinity of the Primes, she looked for other beings to look up to. She rejected the tenents of the Guiding Hand and other forms of worship... Until she read a certain manifesto by a certain charismatic gladiator. The moment she read “You are being Decieved”, it struck a cord in her.

Now donning the nickname “Megaempress” due to her charisma and her ability to create some fanatically loyal followers, she follows the Decepticon cause in its battles and conquests throughout the galaxy... And hoping one day to “catch up” with her fellow Camians and “enlighten” them.

The second batch has the theme Dedicated Giants of the Cause

Blackout: Behemoth of the Working Classes

The working bot’s hero, Blackout of Thetacon is the leader of the Decepticon rank-and-file, and head of the Decepticon Deconstruction Division, though he’d much prefer to call it “The Demolition Division”. Monstrously strong with an unbreakable endoskeleton, he maintains the goodwill of his men by fighting, struggling and laughing alongside them. And everyone rightly fears the might of his EMP punches... enough to deactivate an entire city sector.

A Point-One Percenter, forged deep in the heart of Cybertron’s industrial center, and one of the strongest Cybertronians seen since ancient times, he began as a lowly heavy-transport, albeit one that awed his comrades by just how much he could carry and move, and pull through the harshest environments.

Deep down though, he considered a pugilist at heart, and competed in many contests of champions... and promptly punished for it by the higher ups for “deviating from his assigned station as judged by the council of thirteen”.

This caused him to resent the authorities, especially the Functionists. Who are they to deny the people’s right to their own directions in life? This resentment soon became fear, when he learnt that - alongside being a Point-One-Percenter - he was an Outlier with the ability to generate EMP waves... meaning he was living on borrowed time before he’s “decommissioned” from his job.

When Megatron began recruiting more Cybertronians for his cause... Blackout promptly dropped whatever he was doing, and gathered his fellow worker-bots to meet up with this “Megatron” fellow and what he’s selling... and the rest is history.

Of all of Megatron’s lieutenants, he still maintains his code of ethics, as first and foremost he believes in the original ideals of the Decepticons as agents of change... Ignorant (or in denial) of just how far gone Megatron’s drive for power has gone.

He treats his foes with respect, after all “A Bot on the other side is a bot like me and you.”

Has a spark brother by the name of Grindor.

Lugnut: The Indestructible One

Lugnut of Kaon loves to fight. From the day he was forged he loved fighting. Having an alt-mode of an Aerial Bomber Jet really helps, however his love of fighting caught up to him when simply he could not obey orders to stop, and thus chucked into the gladiatorial pits of Kaon, hoping someone would eventually dispose of him.

That day never happened. For Lugnut was blessed with a nigh-indestructible outer shell and trounced almost every one he encountered and a mighty weapon built into his own fists... The POKE (Punch of Kill Everything)...

He WAS undefeated... Until he met the GLORIOUS Megatron.

Megatron was the first one to ever defeat him (by aiming at Lugnut’s joints and optics). Expecting death, he was instead spared, against all odds, by the up-and-coming Gladitorial Star, and has become LOYAL ever since.

Due to his insane amounts of loyalty to the GLORIOUS leader, he can be put to any of the other teams, acting as heavy muscle alongside being the GLORIOUS leader’s personal attack dog, just in case the others need some “motivation” to do their duties as Decepticons.

Shockwave: Just Your Humble Scientist...

A senator-turned scientist, Shockwave of Iacon is a believer in stone cold logic. He follows Megatron because he believes that it is the logical path to... And because Megatron gives him carte blanche to do heinous experiments in the name of SCIENCE.

Gifted with an enormous intellect, that allowed to see the direction of Cybertronian society from a purely economical, social and mathematical trends -and the direction was anywhere but good. Being of the privileged Senatorial class, he attempted to reform from within... But ultimately failed, and his attempts were deemed dangerous by the rest of the Senate, who promptly tried to dispose of him.

Betrayed by the body that was supposed to be ruling Cybertron for the good of the people, decided that,in pure, logical terms, the Senate was a failure, and needed to be disposed of by any means possible... And what’s an easier way to dispose of a corrupt political class by a full on revolution led by a capable leader?

Though he is a scientist, Shockwave last remnant of his senatorial days, an Alt-Mode of a mighty Mobile Artillery Piece, allows him to be a versatile combatant in long-range assaults.

Alongside that, he is also well armored and armed, his Arm Mounted Astro-Mag cannon is the second most famous weapon amongst the Decepticons... Beaten only by Megatron’s famous fusion cannon.

Thanks to the Bumblebee trailer, I once more in a Transformers mood! YAY!

Felt like doing a sequel to my first transformers redesign pic. If that one’s theme was “Big, Powerful, Loyal”, this theme is “True Believers”. As in they are loyal to not just Lord Megatron, but the entire concept of what it means to be a Decepticon.

Soundwave: Basically a combination of his G1 IDW, Prime and War for Cybertron selves, I interpret him as Megatron’s first follower. Coming from the lowest dregs of society, he was picked by a Senator as a clerk, since he was good with numbers. However, after becoming a bit more opinionated regarding the state of cybertron, he got shunted back to the dreges and forced to become a gladiator... Where he met Megatron himself.

Having experienced all manner of cybertronian life, he realized that the old ways favored the Senate, the Rich and the Powerful, and bots like him were perceived only as useful tools to be cast aside once they done their part. When Megatron gave his speech about promoting equality amongst the masses, Soundwave was the first to join this new social movement.

Being the communications officer, Soundwave is the only one that can effectively communicate each Decepticon branch without a fuss. The most adaptable of Megatron’s inner circle, this is reflected in his fighting style. He relies pure skill and intuition, with some help from his minions.

Tarn: Of MTMTE fame, not much changed design wise, but his eyes are more leaning toward a Transformers Prime aesthetic. His mask is less a mask, and more grafted to his face.

A former Empurata victim, when he joined Megatron’s rank, he became so obsessed with Megatron’s ideology, he became an enforcer to make sure everyone stays on the right path... and thus Decepticon Justice Division to make sure everyone’s on the same page... or else. Become a traitor at your own peril.

Has a lovely voice :). Also two fusion cannons like his regular counterpart because he’s that much of a fanboy.

Megaempress: Because I wanted to make her more than just Megatron’s stalker. Here, I reinterpret her as a former Caminus. who rejected the way of the Flame, the divinity of the Primes, and found new life following the Decepticon Manifesto. ‘Megaempress’ ain’t even her first name, but an informal title to reflect her new status among the ‘cons... like their very own Mistress of Flame (just don’t say that to her face).

Unlike Tarn, who makes sure everyone stays loyal by being scary, she makes others loyal to the cause as a priest would. She would treat spreading the Decepticon message in a slow, gradual way, using the power of rhetoric to break down Autobot philosophy as obsolete and unrealistic, and showing why the Decepticon path

Of the three, by far the most melee oriented. While Blackout and Lugnut punches things to death, she loves melee weapons, and she loves her Axe (named Judgement)... Though when she needs to be pragmatic, a rail-cannon is always nice.

Note: Regarding why Cybertronians here would know about Caminus’ itself, basically I reimagined Nova Prime being more of like an Alexander the Great figure (egotism and all), who managed to conquered almost all the Cybertronian colonies for a while, allowing Cybertron to be a central hub of civilization once more... then he died, and since he had no interest beyond conquest, the Senate he left became a corrupt and society unstable due to increased functionism... Ripe for nice, little Civil War...

So did Starscream and Barricade just plain not look for Megatron for twenty years?

Barricade is all “should we start the search? He crashed here.” and Screamer is just all “Yeah don’t go out of your way or nothing.”

Then Blackout shows up in 2007 and Starscream is all “OH HI FELLOW DECEPTICON WE ALSO JUST GOT HERE AND TOTALLY HAVEN’T BEEN HERE FOR TWO DECADES.”

“LET’S LOOK FOR MEGATRON!”

Honestly? Knowing Screamer he probably just sent Barricade to endless goose chases without Barricade realizing it and generally being quitely unhelpful.

Y’all here are the robots for Bumblebee 2018. We’ve got Barricade, Starscream, Bumblebee (ofc), Optimus and another ‘Con.

If it’s Deadlock I’m gonna be shook.

The hype is real.

Bumblebee comes out December 21st, 2018.

Edit: I was reading the tags and someone mentioned the mystery Con could be Knock Out. I’m actually interested in that as well.

Edit 2: It’s been about 11 years since the first one came out. I certainly hope they get the characters right. The designs are similar to the IDW comics and G1 era. I loved what they did with Crosshairs, even if that wasn’t really what he was like. If they’re planning to “reboot” the series, please Paramount, get the characters right. No racial stereotypes ( DRIFT AND HOT ROD ) with the characters.
