I think we should all congratulate Archie on keeping it together because she doesn't know what Ed was like on the Revenge before The Breakup, she doesn't know the Ed who tells ghost stories and dresses in Stede's frilly clothes and sings sad songs in a flowery robe.

She knows Ed who's high and drunk and depressed as fuck, who drives them into a raid after a raid and sails them into a storm with the threat of killing them all.

Then this random weird blond dude turns up on their ship and the next day, Blackbeard is dressed in a sack of potatoes, wearing a kitty collar and delivering a youtuber apology with the most innocent face ever. My girl is just taking it all in stride

i feel like archie ofmd is getting an inordinate amount of dislike and resentment. (i haven't really seen it around here, but in other spaces online!) i've seen so many posts throughout s2 like, "who is she? she's so random! what is she contributing? why is she here? we know nothing about her except surface level stuff and random backstory details!" but like ... that also describes almost all the men in the crew!!! why CAN'T we have a woman pirate who's got the same kind of chaotic, unburdened-by-backstory vibe? why not, huh??

tl;dr -- i love archie and i'm so glad she joined the crew!

I have happily seen none of this but it's funny because it kind of echoes the non-breakup boat crew's suspicion towards Who's This New Guy
