"At 8 a.m., Delhi’s PM2.5 level, a major pollutant, measured 209.3 micrograms per cubic meter, far exceeding the WHO’s recommended 24-hour limit of 15 micrograms per cubic meter. This spike brought the overall air quality index (AQI) to the high end of the ‘very poor’ category.

During the night between Thursday and Friday, some areas reported PM2.5 levels over 100 times the WHO limit due to Diwali night celebrations, although conditions slightly improved by morning, per Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) data."
