i'm so flabbergasted over people being too dumb to realize that official companies' art is obviously an exception and i'm so sorry you have to put up with this shit. also cookie run had a whole "skin color" problem with "whitewashing" when the characters were cookies and didn't even have a defined race. some were coded as a specific race, sure, but the multitude that people complained about weren't. so i've seen firsthand the stuff this thing causes.

I kinda forgot it’s pride month since Thailand already celebrated pride around April. Gotta say that I was really lucky to be born and raised in an open minded city like Bangkok, Thailand. I am a 90′s kid, most of my memories that I can remembered are from the early 2000′s. The Internet was still the “new thing” back then, but thanks to the “world wide web” that is how I found out I was Bi. I asked the baby Google “is it weird to be attracted to both male and female?” There weren’t many answers given, but the word Bisexual came up. So I clicked on the link. Not the most interesting story, I know. Coming out to my family was really easy as, well, since they are very accepting. I was really lucky to have such a loving family. Love FTW!
Gonna do a quick summarized of what happened for my Thai friends since they asked na ka. เรื่องเกิดขึ้นเพราะโพสก่อนหน้านี้อ่ะ เราโพสเกี่ยวกับการที่คนเอาภาพอาร์ติสคนอื่นไปย้อมผิวให้สีดูเข้มขึ้น(เพราะบางภาพระบายออกมาสีอ่อน(โทนพาสเทล))โดยไม่ขอเจ้าของผลงาน แล้วยังบอกอีกว่าชั้นนะทำให้งานของเธอดีขึ้นนะ ซึ่งมันเกิดขึ้นกับอาร์ติสหลายคนมาสักพักแล้ว ประเด็นของเราที่วาดลงไปเกี่ยวกับว่า เอางานของคนอื่นไปแล้วไปแก้ของเขามันไม่ดีนะ เสียมารยาท ถ้าอยากได้อาร์ตเป็นแบบที่ต้องการก็คิมมิชอาติสสิ จบ มีแค่นี้ แต่! คนเอาไปตีความว่าเราเหยียดสีผิวที่ไม่ยอมให้เขาแก้งานคนอื่น เราเองก็ไม่เข้าใจเท่าไรว่าทำไมถึงไปตีความแบบนั้น แต่ไม่แปลกใจเพราะเว็บนิเอสเจดับเบิ้ลยูเยอะ ส่วนมากจะเป็นเด็กวัยรุ่นด้วย เอาเหตุผลไปคุยคงไม่ค่อยเข้าใจกัน ไม่แปลกค่ะ มีส่งมาว่าเราว่าเหยียดผิว เราเลยถามว่าช่วยอธิบายให้หน่อยได้ไมว่าทำไมโพสเราถึงทำให้คุณคิดแบบนั้น? แต่นางก็หายไป ไฮไลท์มาม่าก็มีเท่านี้ค่ะ ฮาาา ส่วนตัวเราไม่คิดว่าเราทำอะไรผิดนะ แค่ไม่ชอบเวลาโดนเอางานไปโดยไม่ขอค่ะ :D
Just wanna say, sorry people are misconstruing what you're saying. These people really be in the replies acting like their one liners are funny or witty while they haven't been outside of tumblr in 10 years 😔 get updated yall it was a Japanese artist who's work got edited wheres your wokeness now.

The way I understood it is “don’t color/trace over someone’s all ready finished art!” And that if you wanted to indulge in your own head cannon over a character to commission the artist instead of desecrating their work. I know theirs ppl who HC certain characters as a certain ethnicity or even trans. Which tbh I think is fine because I know I defo have thought about certain characters as something ells especially if the chara is rather ambiguous.
The post has nothing to do about race or gender. My point was, if you took other people artwork, use it or edit without the artist permission, that is rude.If you want the artwork to your liking, commission the artist.It is interesting to see how people manage to link it to racism and current gender politics on tumblr. I guess that’s the power of selective attention.
so, how would you personally suggest one would go about commissioning the fucking artists and character designers of god damn game freak if they want to draw their favorite charachters with a darker skin tone or more clothing? you do realize like, literally every edit like that is made for like, charachters owned by million dollar corporations, right? do you think they care? I was referring to the artist who has their commissions open.Maybe I expected people were smart enough to know that the chance of commissioning Nintendo artist is close to none. That’s my bad. Furthermore, the ‘I fixed it/I made it better’ thing that had been going on was happening way before Nessa. As an artist, that like to draw fanart for fun. I do understand how other artist feels when their art got treated like this and edited to fit other’s political pov. Please treat others with respect, ask them first if it is possible to edit their work.Being nice is free, learning and using social manners are also free. It won’t hurt to use it either.

Here’s my view of the ‘I made it better (so it’ll fit my political pov)’ The thing that’s going on. EDIT: Here’s my “artist interpretation” of this work (to clear things up). Don’t take people’s artwork without asking for permission. If you want an artwork to represent what you like, commission an artist. MORE EDITS: I think a lot of you missed the point. My point was, to simply put, don’t use other’s art without permission. I only used the changing skintones as an example, because it is one of the most thing people edits. I don’t know why you think of me as racist, that’s weird. Some of you also thought me as white? No, i‘m poc as well, Asian in fact, South East Asia. I was born in SEAsia, raised in SEAsia, my skin are darker than East Asian, the only time I’ve ever been to the US was when I was in school in San Francisco for like three years.
