So here I am at almost 1 in the morning CRYING because of fucking VAH MEDOH’S DUNGEON MUSIC
ALL BECAUSE SOMEBODY HAD TO POINT OUT THE FUCKING SOS CALL FROM WITHIN IM-
I CAME HERE TO THINK ABOUT REVALI AND HAVE A GOOD TIME NOT FUCKING THIS
when is it??
Relatively close to the beginning, you’ll hear electronic tones in a pattern of …—… in which the dots are short tones and the dashes are long tones, which is the Morse code for “SOS
O H M Y G O D N O
BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!
EVERY Divine Beast has the SOS call in their dungeon music. Every. Last. One.
BUT WAIT, THERES STILL MORE!
UNLIKE REVALI’S DIVINE BEAST, THE OTHER CHAMPIONS’ SOS CALL CANE SOONER IN THE MUSIC.
Revali was so proud, so arrogant, so hellbent on being the best, that even his SOS call came LATER than the other Champions. The others knew they weren’t able to handle it on their own, and made the call faster. Revali on the other hand, was so convinced that he could handle it on his own, that his call didn’t come until it was probably already too late.
WHICH LEADS ME TO MY NEXT THEORY
THE PLACEMENT OF WHEN THE SOS CALL COMES IN JUST MIGHT ACTUALLY BE WHEN EACH CHAMPION DIED. This could mean that Revali was actually able to fend off Windblight Ganon LONGER than the other champions were able to fend off their own blight. That maybe Revali’s SOS came later because he survived longer than the rest, presumably Urbosa’s coming in just a bit before his. I haven’t checked the EXACT times on the other divine beasts, but I do know that Revali’s SOS was the latest and last one to play through the dungeon.
ALSO: Even though his was the last to send in the SOS, his is the only one that’s openly PROMINENT. Urbosa, Daruk, and Mipha’s SOS calls within their music are all BACKGROUND TONES that are even slower and more deliberate, which means they werent made in a hurry. Revali’s is VERY prominent in the music, not to mention how RUSHED it is, that rush you can HEAR in the tones. So even though Revali made it longer without needing help, by the time he finally swallowed his pride and actually made the call, it was frantic, panicked, a call only someone who knew they were going to die would make
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
Recently I finished a small series of the Hyrule Champions! Currently I’m working on charms, but for now these illustrations are available on various products over on RedBubble!
Reblogs are always appreciated! <3
here’s a fluffy baby revali from twitter - in awe of the size of this lad.
戦士の務め/Worrior’s duty(JPN ver and ENG ver.)
Please read from upper-right corner.right to left.
Revali is most difficult character to draw…Especially his head’s shape.Even I have a Revali’s amiibo as a model. リーバル描くのが一番難しいです!頭の形とか🧐
A friend and I were talking about the world of BOTW before Link and Zelda so here’s a sketch dump of the trash from that conversation
Also because I’m sick of saying “[insert any Zelda character]’s mother” I’m naming Zelda’s mum Eleanor and Mipha’s mum Luella in case I do more art of the two characters
birb
NOTE: Of all the Champions, besides Link, Revali was the only non-royal type of the group. As far as I can tell, he was just some guy. The Rito’s best warrior, yes, but basically just a solider. Despite that, the Rito were comfortable with him repping them.
Like, Hyrule asks for champions: Everyone sends their tribal leaders. Except the Rito, who are pragmatic, and send their strongest possible dude to help in battle. Like, you don’t send Revali if you’re thinking about looking good politically. You send Revali because something needs to die.
#ritoareheretofight #notimefordiplomacy
See, I like to think the Rito don’t have much of a royalty social structure and it’s more of a democratic familial thing and therefore, to them, Revali was worthy of talking to Kings and Chieftains on equal footing. That and, they’d like to be diplomatic, but like “this guy can fly at super sonic speed. maybe he’s rude, but he’ll get your shit done, hoss.”
And sent their asshole asskicker to help kill Ganon.
SUUUUUUUCK MY DIIIIICK, FAAAALCO
Apparently there’s a small tradition of Link interacting with tsundere bird boys whose names start with the letter R…. anyways, I feel like these two would either get on like a house on fire. you know what they say about birds of a feather!
would u draw botw link + his bf revali,, i lov thos Boys
Ravioli, Ravioli, what’s in this bird’s brainioli??
Revali from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild made as a commission! The commissioner initially wanted a floppy beanie plush and had given me artistic license on how many accessories to incorporate (they at least wanted the small wings, pants & scarf) and I decided I wanted to try to fit in as many details as I possibly could. This is my first time making a fully clothed character plush and it was quite an experience!
He’s made of Midnight Blue and Snow White minky with velboa legs, feet, & beak and his various accessories & attire are made from fleece, 2 mm felt, faux suede, knits, leather lace, minky, and polymer clay beads along with lots of machine embroidered details. He measures approximately 13.5 inches long / 34 cm with a wingspan of 15 inches / 38 cm.
I personally haven’t played BotW but I adore the Rito designs so much, I was really happy to get to make one!
OOAK plush commission, not for sale.
look i just have feelings about Revali and Zelda being friends Revali flies to Hyrule Castle to cheer Zelda up with his company and his mostly accidental bird puns. (translating Rito language into Hyrulean Common often ends up with the most accurate translations being puns due to the information density of Rito-song, but he definitely made puns on purpose to try and get smiles out of Zelda on her darkest days)
Friend: What’s your phone background?
Me: Oh, it’s just a family photo.
