I was just talking to him just a couple minutes ago and he was totally ready to kill any of us. He did try to kill me. Yes, me too. On many, many occasions.

Bruce has a lot of insecurities, but not in his experience and skill as a scientist. That’s why he’s not threatened by Shuri’s prowess in Infinity War. In fact, he’s more impressed by her than anything, and is just utterly starstruck by her level of knowledge. So he eventually works up the courage to ask to collaborate with her as a fellow researcher. He’s eager to share in her perspective, and Shuri in turn is eager to be able to act as a teacher/mentor to someone for once. One of her biggest pet peeves is that, in spite of her scientific accomplishments and genius intellect, she’s almost never taken seriously because she isn’t an adult. So it’s a refreshing change of pace for her when Bruce, who is also an accomplished scientist, asks to work with and learn from her.

But he really doesn’t understand them all that well and messes up sometimes

Bruce: “Hi Thor!”

Thor: “HELLO BANNER I’D LIKE TO EAT YOUR EYES!”

Bruce: “…..What”

Thor: “Your eyes are brown like chocolate, and chocolate is delicious, so by extension your eyes are also delicious!”

OR EVEN BETTER

He does understand them but uses them at extremely inappropriate times

Person: “Wow Bruce! Your skin looks amazing!”

Thor: “I bet it would look even better on my floor.”

And then Bruce is traumatized for a week because does Thor want to skin him? Is keeping the skins of friends in your home a normal Asgardian tradition?

Either way Thor just ends up creeping or weirding Bruce out and ugh. Help him. He can’t flirt with humans to save his life.

thor doesnt know how to flirt w bruce cause he doesnt know if it works any differently on earth so he goes to tony for help en tony just sends him off with the most vulgar science pickup line he can think of and thor just goes with it ((cause he doesnt know any details about earth science)) which results in an accusing “TONYYYY” being yelled from bruce’s lab a few hours later and tony just snickering when he hears it
