What if Yn was a Naga? What difrence would it make in the story?

Avatar

If this is for Trust In Me with Naga Sun and Moon and Tigertaur Eclipse, it would make a difference!

Y/N would be wary of the Naga brothers considering that in nature there are snakes who will eat other, smaller snakes, and you don't want to risk it. Not to mention there are species who, if displeased with a potential mate, will swallow the other whole. You'll keep your distance for now, though they are very curious about the other naga whose scent they keep catching throughout the jungle. Sun is especially eager to meet you but you barely slip just out of reach whenever you catch sight of his bright yellow scales. At night, you sometimes find a gleaming pair of red eyes glowing in the darkness before you slither deeper into the shadows.

You can't outrun Eclipse. The tigertaur is agile and swift, and once he pounces, you're caught. You're certain he intends to devour you—he's merely playing with his food first, licking your hair and purring about how lovely your scales are. He tells you to stay with him. The two of you can scavage for food together but you don't trust him, and whenever he finally gets off your winding tail, you bolt for the safety of the trees.

Avatar

Do you think the Naga boys want babies?

Avatar

Depends on which naga boys.

For Sun and Moon in Trust In Me, they love kids, sure, but they don't see a future where they have their own children with the reader. It's just not possible in their eyes. It's a nice daydream though.

Blackwater Lure Eclipse definitely wants babies. He shares that trait with Orca Eclipse.

The other nagas in The Serpent Den AU are all a mixed bag, depending on who we're talking about.

Avatar

Saw the answered ask of tigertaur eclipses reaction with catnip, now im wondering leopardtaur readers, especially since you said the reaction is different, and idk if youve answered a question like that yet lol

Avatar

Oh leopardtaur!Y/N is possessed with the zoomies. You zip this way and that, roll onto your back, and leap up to dart around a tree in a flash. You are especially frenzied for a playmate. Your eyes are wide and black. Depending on if a naga or a tigertaur is nearby, you'll want to roughhouse or give a wack with your paws.

If Sun and Moon manage to find you, they'll wait out the catnip by trying to keep you contained in an area so you don't accidentally hurt yourself in your craze. (You really like their scales; they're so shiny and pretty! You touch their tails then run away just to loop back and do it again, much to the boys' amusement.) Tigertaur!Eclipse will simply give chase and herd you, running in time with your wild energy and making sure you don't hit a tree or fall into a river. He'll tease you about how exciting it would be to hunt you like this—if he could even catch you.

The crash afterward leaves you slumped and groaning. Sun and Moon would like to curl around you and help you recover. They would also be sure to chastise you and make you promise to never do that again. Eclipse is just glad that you're more like putty in his hands to play with as he wishes, and he purrs that next time he'll make sure he's right beside you from the start.

How aware is Naga Sun that Y/N is intimidated by his yawn?

He gets the idea that Y/N isn't the biggest fan of him 'yawning' the first time he does it near them. He catches a glimpse of their wide eyes and stiff shoulders and quickly apologizes. He didn't mean to startle them. He then explains that it's because his mouth stretches when he eats so he's just settling it back into place. See! No big deal! But, uh, turns out it is a big deal. So after that, he does it in private or when Y/N's back is turned (which is rare).

Avatar

Hi Naff! I was rereading your 3 shots nagaAU

And I was curious why Y/N was surprised that both nagas came to rescue them when eclipse kidnapped them.

Do they not fully trust sun and moon yet?

Are the Nagas aware of that?

Anyway if answer this question spoils the AU feel free to ignore it. Hope you are doing well ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Avatar

Heya, babe!

Y/N doesn't trust Sun and Moon (or so they tell themselves) but they were surprised because they expected to be abandoned. It's cruel and harsh, but they believe they have to save themselves to be saved. They can't trust anyone else to do it for them. This is due to past experiences that turned them so hard-hearted towards any extended hands and gestures of genuine care.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Sun and Moon know Y/N is wary and uneasy in their presence, they're trying desperately to show them that they can trust the nagas.

Heya Naff!

A curious question: do naga!sun's and naga!moon's venom have different effects/properties compared to the other?

Naga!Sun is the only one who is venomous of the two. Naga!Moon lacks venom but possesses the ability to hypnotize his prey. Sun's venom is a special concoction as it can help or kill depending on the dosage. Likewise, Moon can hypnotize whomever he pleases to lure them to sleep and do what he will. When it comes to Y/N, he hypnotizes to get them to stop and rest for a minute because they're a stubborn, distrustful thing.

As I was reading some stuff about leopard y/n and tiger eclipse and naga sun & moon, I couldn’t get the image of naga sun and moon looking so offended while watching y/n be cleaned by eclipse from afar

But the image of eclipse doing that seems so sweat at the same time argh

I need more of tigertuar!eclipse and leopard y/n cuddling even if it was eclipse who just kind of made them do it-

Oh, Sun and Moon are so jealous but also very concerned because they do not trust the tigertaur. He hasn't given them a reason to. It's clear you're not particularly into Eclipse cleaning you but they're not sure if they should intervene because it's hard to pinpoint if you like anything, so they keep watch while displaying their displeasure.

Eclipse can sense them. His ears flicker in the direction of angry hisses. Aware of his audience, he licks whatever part of you he can reach with his rough tongue, either your cheek or the back of your head (leaving a cowlick in your hair). You complain and wash it off but Eclipse is satisfied his message got across. Mine. If there's a loud chorus of hisses, he'll splash the water with a massive tiger paw to drown it out.

Eclipse can be gentle when he wants to be. Grooming is intimate and he wants to show you how well he can take care of you. He washes the spot on your leopard back that's hard to reach with your hands, despite how flat your ears lie on your skull in warning. He cups his large hands to drip water down your head like rainwater. You tolerate it because he's being useful right now, but you're also itching to dash away the moment you see an opening.

Eclipse really loves grabbing Leopard!Y/N for impromptu cuddles. You really shouldn't be surprised when he ascends the tree you're napping in, scruffing you, and carrying you down to the shady ground. You snarl and try to wriggle free but every time he pins you underneath him and—that's it. You're not going anywhere until he lets you.

*slides leopardtaur Y/N to you across the table like a seedy casino*

*picks leopardtaur Y/N up and slips them into my inner jacket pocket*

You escaped Fazco's jungle park the moment it fell, darting to the outer regions of dense forest and tangled vegetation to soak in the untouched tropics. Your lower body takes after a leopard with a tawny coat and beautiful black rosettes. You're sleek, swift, and dangerous but not the biggest threat.

While in captivity, you caught whiffs off handlers of strange scents and heard gossip from those feeding you about the other monsters. You don't see any now, but you know to avoid conflict is to avoid encounters. You hunt at different times than might be typical for other beasts and avoid taking prey that might be missed. Usually, you rest in trees and hope to go unnoticed. You enjoy your newfound freedom. You hope to never see another human again.

Unfortunately, you're not alone. You realize that when you catch distant hisses and the echoes of slithering in the undergrowth. There are also the bones left from meals picked clean that you occasionally stumble upon. Massive paw tracks are left in the moist dirt. When you step into it with your paws, the imprint engulfs yours.

You'd rather not find out who those belong to. You're fierce but small. If anything big catches you in its teeth, it's over.

That doesn't mean you're never found. One lazy evening, just after nightfall, you wake up from a cozy nap along a thick tree branch. You yawn, opening your jaws and flashing your sharp teeth, stretching your arms and four legs and flicking your tail, only to realize that there's something above you. Wide, red eyes, caught off guard, stare down at you from higher branches. A naga, deep blue and hooded, dotted with diamonds of red and yellow scales, stares back. He must have been slithering along, not realizing the tree was already occupied. He starts to say something. You've already dashed down the tree trunk and bounded away faster than a bird disappearing into the forest.

That was too close, but not as close as your next encounter. The waterside is dangerous—you have to go there for a cool drink when the afternoon sun is hot. You venture forward, furry ears pricked, eyes scanning the verdant trees until you reach the babbling river's side. The noise is dangerous. It can conceal threats you might otherwise hear before they get too close, but you fold your four legs underneath you and cup your hands to drink delicious sweet water. It runs down your chin before you register another presence. The soft hiss of surprise that echoes.

You jump into the water. Splashing furiously, you turn around to face the intruder only to be met with wide blue eyes and open hands, just as stunned to see you as you are to see him. A naga of golden colors and red patches. He doesn't have a hood, not like the other one. Bright frills frame his head like a crown of beaming gold. He smiles reassuringly, almost too excited, and says, "Hello, friend." You spare him not a word as you swim across the river and disappear into the other end of the forest, ignoring his pleas to wait a moment.

The third encounter is too close for comfort. You don't realize you're being stalked until it's too late. The tall grass made you feel safe and hidden, but it only concealed who lurked here. You spy two gleaming orange eyes between blades of grass moments before the tigertaur leaps on you—and in a second, you're pinned. His paws hold your leopard body down, easily dwarfing you, as his hands grab your wrists. His strength puts an end to your attempts to fight back or wriggle free. He coos at you, much to your dismay. When he leans in close, you brace for his teeth to sink into you. Instead, he licks your cheek and tells you how sweet it is to finally get a proper eyeful of you. You're always running or hiding or sleeping. He wants to know your name. He wants you to know his name. He wants to see you again very soon, ignoring your confusion and disbelief that you're still alive.

He finally lets you up. He grabs your wrist when you try to flee. His striped tail whips about like he's playing while your own snaps in feral agitation. He tells you that you can trust him, especially over those snakes. You break free (did he let you break free?) and race back to the shadowy shelter of the jungle trees, breathing hard and frazzled.

You hide harder, staying in trees more and avoiding moving too much in the middle of the day and at midnight. Your paranoia grows when you notice little offers left under the tree where you had a nap at dawn and dusk: small morsels of meat, berries, nuts, and even flowers that hold no nutritional value but are gorgeous. You hear the nagas more, feel their presence, even catch sight of them as they catch sight of you, calling out, urging you to stop for a moment, please.

The tigertaur finds you when he pleases. He catches you bathing in the river one night and proceeds to help you groom your coat and hair despite your raised hackles, and he tells you that you should hunt food together; it would be far more efficient to share meals, and you need more meat. No matter where you go, where you hide, he finds you. You're certain he takes delight in catching you by surprise by how eagerly he snatches you up each time.

You don't like the offerings left by the nagas but you do take them, even the useless flowers. You don't like the tigertaur dragging a large carcass out, dropping it at your feet, and telling you to indulge, but you do eat. You don't know how to handle the attention of so many large predators, much less what to say when you drop by the babbling waterside to find the yellow naga smiling at you and telling you that it's safe, they won't hurt you. You don't know how to respond when you wake up to a soft hum in the middle of the night and find the blue naga a tree over, coiled up and watching you with a ruby gleam and a soft request to come over to his tree. He doesn't bite.

You don't know what to do but you want to survive, and you don't know if you can with the nagas and tigertaur beckoning you closer.

Warm Fangs

Naga!Sun x Reader. Sickness.

As you sleep, the fever worsens. Chills hit you with a violent shudder. The heat from the sickness flees under the quaking cold. You moan softly, curling up tighter. A soft hiss shushes you but you can’t find anything warm, anything warm at all.

The smooth brush of scales loosens from around you. The outside cold slips away from your feverish skin but stays within.

“It hasn’t broken yet,” Moon murmurs distantly. Cold fingertips brush your hair, damp from sweat, away from your forehead. A whine leaves you. You hate how pathetic it sounds inside your head.

“Oh, no. I was afraid it might linger with our poor lily pad,” Sun lowers his voice but he’s not as quiet as his brother, holding a stage whisper more than an actual whisper. You might have smiled if you weren’t bothered by the mottled moonlight giving way to a blue-bright early morning sky.

It doesn’t feel warm. The sun is supposed to reheat the earth and take away the frost filling your chest with a shivering revolt.

A few quiet exchanges slip away in your near unconsciousness. Gingerly, you become weightless, lifted into the air like a feather before pressed into other arms. Heat, raw and covering, finally touches your body. You breathe out a low sigh, eyelids fluttering to peek up at the source of the heat. The form softly sways as you’re carried away.

“It’s going to be alright,” Sun hums. He looks down at you, his spiky frills flaring around his head in golden hues before the shadow of the cave eclipses the morning sun. “Don’t move, my water lily, you’re still sick.”

“Hmm, I’m fine,” you half moan. Your eyes fall close again. A tender soreness soaks into every muscle, especially at your neck and your shoulders. The deep, deep ache that refuses to go away.

You shudder with another chill. Sun clicks his tongue in concern, the forked end whipping with a snapping worry.

“You amaze me, truly. Even in the throes of illness, you’re still so stubborn.” He laughs softly, endearing but in a way that almost makes you push yourself out of his steady arms. He doesn’t get to think you’re cute. Not right now, when you feel how sticky your body is and how weak your limbs dangle as he carries you deeper into the cave you’ve made a shelter within.

“Sun,” you softly groan.

“Save your strength to fight the fever, not me.” A soft peck of his scaly mouth touches your temple. You nearly dissolve under his doting command. “You need to rest and do as I say so you can feel better. I don’t like to see you like this.”

You, in a reflective, rebellious instinct, almost try to kick out your feet and find solid ground, but Sun lowers you to the cold, cave floor. You’re seized by another icy torrent of coldness. Hugging your arms, you quietly groan. A soft swell of tears teem over your eyelids. That’s from the sickness, you tell yourself. You’re not crying because Sun and his sweet warmth let you go.

“I’ll be gone for only a moment, lily pad. Hold on for me, okay?” he singsongs.

You want to snatch the heat that had held back the torturous chills. Lifting your heavy eyes, you scour the dimness of the cave, catching sight of Sun’s long body softly slipping over the stone towards the shelves that were chipped into the wall of the cavern. The rich yellow hues of his scales are bright even in the shadows of rocks. The markings along his waist and around his throat are scarlet and vibrant with warning of his venom. You watch the outline of Sun’s defined shoulders move, taking and gathering, collecting a pale pink blossom you can’t currently name.

Pressed against the wall in a sleepy bundle of his scales, Moon watches you, eyes half lidded but attentive. You didn’t hear him enter. His hands open and close, as if to reach for you. He holds back. You frown at his distance but recall his cool scales through the midnight fever, and drowsily, in fitful half-sleep, wait for Sun.

He returns with a skim over the floor. His presence washes over you with hope.

“Don’t cry, my water lily. I’m here,” Sun coaxes with gentle mirth. A crooked finger swipes the leaking liquid from your eyes.

“Not crying,” you grumble, voice croaking like a frog. “Not a water lily.”

“Oh, I’m going to have to disagree and blame your lack of sense on the sickness,” he chirps as if you were simply the most adorable thing he’s ever seen.

You pry your eyelids open for a glare. You certainly are not a beautiful and grandiose flower. Not right now in your freezing weakness.

Moon’s hissing laughter echoes. It fills you with another short burst of irate energy that lasts for only the moment of his humor. Sun tuts and shoots Moon a look before gently cradling you. The golden naga guides you upright with a tender hand supporting your back. He rests your head on his shoulder, his underside a shiny, pale cream color, and the gentle heat of his body burns away the chills holding you down.

He lifts up a small flower, pale pink and pom-pom like on the end of a slender, green stalk.

“Eat this. It’ll make you feel better,” he softly insists.

You eye the flower as if it were a venus flytrap, and you were a particularly weak fly.

“What is it?” you murmur.

“I’ve heard humans call it a sensitive plant, sometimes called touch-me-not. If you had told me you weren’t feeling well early, you could have had this sooner.” The chasiting does not evade your awareness. Sun lowers the plant closer, as if offering a rose instead of medicine. “It will help with your fever and chills.”

“Ugh,” you turn your head ahead. The thought of eating when you have no appetite rears an ugly head within you. “I don’t need it.”

“I disagree strongly, lilypad,” Sun crones in disapproval. “Once you eat it, you’ll start to feel better.”

The soft lift to his tone invades you. You want to squirm, keep turning away from the offered medical plant, but Sun’s warmth surrounds you entirely. Gently, his finger guides your cheek until you face him once more.

“Please, won’t you, for me?” His cornflower blue eyes hold you with his plea. From the corners of his wide mouth, the very tips of fangs glint, but you’re not afraid of his bite. He saved you with his venom, once.

You grimace and force your lips to part. Murmuring praises and coaxes alike in a soft, musical tone, Sun presses the flower head to your mouth until you bite it off, and chew laboriously. It tastes green and dry. He watches you, hawk-like, ensuring you masticate the soft, brittle like petals before swallowing against the vicious dryness of your throat. You gasp after gulping.

His smile grows like a sunbeam at sunrise.

“See? It wasn’t so bad.” He tenderly rubs his mouth against your forehead. “Thank you."

The heat of his affection battles the cold underneath your skin, and when you shiver, he holds you tighter. You fall deeper under his fondness.

"This will pass and you’ll be in tip-top shape again,” he says softly, brimming with heated hope.

Oh, Sun. You want to curse him. You want to tell him that he can’t talk like that, melting your insides and making you nothing but an ooey-gooey mess, but you can’t. You are swept away by his sweet tones.

No one but Sun unbalances you and catches you in the same motion. He’s disarming. He's the only thing that feels right.

You slump against him in another full-body shudder. Softly humming, Sun begins rearranging your limp form, draping your legs across his deliciously warm tail as the dark end wraps your lower legs. The tightness of his coils used to frighten you before you realized how summery and soft he is. He tucks you gently against his arm, lying down to become your personal pillow.

You are so useless. It’s a miracle you haven’t faded away by now—a miracle of two nagas, no less.

“It’s also called humble flower,” he continues with a soft note. “Perhaps you could take that aspect from it as well, my water lily.”

You moan, unable to offer a rebuttal that you are no flower, but his gentle embrace covers you entirely. His chest thrums lightly with a heartbeat you’ve listened to before. A soft hum fills his throat. He continues pressing his mouth against your cheek, the crook of your neck, and the top of your head as if smothering the clammy effect attempting to surface on your body.

“Soon, you’ll rise and we can stroll through the jungle and find more flowers, more flowers like you, and you’ll feel better. Doesn’t that sound nice?” he chatters endlessly.

You can only snuggle deeper against his chest, against his warm, smooth scales, better than any patch of sunlight, and trust in him.

Snake nerd back at it again!

Today, very funny, very interesting. Defense tactics and two very unique ones.

Snakes in general, if they feel threatened start hissing and flattening themselves to look all big and scary. The degree to which snakes flatten themselves is dependent on the species and the snake itself.

A good extreme example of snakes flattening themselves, is the hognose snake.

This is a hognose snake.

This is a very angy hog nose snake.

As you can see, very flat. But flattening Horizontal isn’t the only option at your disposal. There is a group of snakes that flatten themselves Vertical. Thies snakes are call “old world rat snakes”. A very good and pretty example is the Vietnamese Blue Beauty snakes. (Also available in green and yellow) here is one being clam, which, rare. (very feisty)

Now look at that flat boy, he very angy.

Quick look back at hog nose snake, if hissing and flattening themselves doesn’t work, they have a plan B. And that plan B is playing dead.

They are Drama queens even babies fresh out of the egg will play dead. If you pick them up and turn them back on their belly they WILL turn back over. They will musk and even pop on themselves to really sell the fact that there are, in fact, dead.

A true theater kid.

Now if you will, do a little thought experiment with me. One of the Naga boys just vibin, doing a bit of sunbathing, not really paying attention to their surroundings. Yn slowly approaches, not really trying to be quiet because they think they have already been noticed. However, they weren’t in fact noticed.

They stand next to the Naga waiting for them to react, they don’t. So, they clear their throat and in the process absolutely scare the shit out of the Naga who is now standing defensively with hands firmly planted on the ground and flattened like an elongated pancake.

Both of them are shocked and confused.

Avatar

I love that the one defensive of being scared means flat time and the little hognose snake!!! They're fantastic, they're dramatic, they're selling the part!!

Ohhhh ho, the vertical defense is so pleasing to see and just so intimidating! They are so scary and I'm sure their hiss sound is blood-curdling!

Naga!Sun would be perfect for the little thought experiment! He was enjoying his sunbathing and then his Y/N popped up out of the blue, of course, he's a little embarrassed to have been so caught off guard. Y/N is confused because they've never seen a scared naga before, but Sun quickly, a bit abashed, explores that Y/N just surprised him a little. But since they're here, won't they join him in the warm sunlight?

Y/N puts two and two together later, after thinking about the encounter, that oh, they startled a naga.

@naffeclipse Nagas you say . . . have them three boys all made up of tropical species(or semi tropical) of snakes

Sun is a mix of Eyelash Viper and Black Racer. Sun is diurnal.

Moon is White Lipped Python and a Cape Cobar. He is also the longest out of the boys and Nocturnal.

And Eclipse is a Red African Bush Viper mixed with a Blood Python. He is active during the morning and the evening.

Dont get me started on snake biologie, I will ramble for hours and give you a crash course worth 3 years of biologie class.

Augh, I'm obsessed with the little shine on their tails, especially Moon with the rainbow-like sheen! Sun looks incredible with his yellow and black scheme! I'm also ogling Eclipse's bright red color with the patterns on his tail. Ahhhh, it's over for me, I'm dying over these!!!! I also love your Y/N design and how they interact with each snake boy! There's so much personality in each of them, and I'm swooning!!

Ahhhhhhhh, I am kissing all of them—thank you!!!!
