Not saying Via should've ran away, but y'all understand that this behavior is... really normal for kids growing up in dysfunctional households, right? This isn't a story of a spoiled brat getting upset she can't get what she wants. Even though Stolas planned to come back to her, she still felt that he was being dismissive of her.

Again, she's not perfect, but it bothers me when people act like this situation is more simple than it really is. Via is traumatized by Stella and Stolas' constant arguments, she doesn't want to hear that shit on the day she's been looking forward to for years.

This isn't even an anti Stolas post or some sort of "Stolas is a neglectful father!!!" rant, I just want people to see both point of views here

Don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but once again reminding people that Stolas did NOT enjoy the sitcom 😭 He liked Blitz's joke, but that doesn't equate to enjoying the ENTIRE show. He was annoyed by it and wanted to get it over with ("Now hurry up and wow them so we can get back to finding Via!")

To answer your question, I'm pretty sure there is already a canon answer to this. I'm aware that the Instagram accounts aren't canon, but I do remember an interaction he had with someone who asked for her hand in marry in a comment section and he replied saying it isn't his hand to give.

To me, this seems to imply that he really just doesn't want her to go through what he went through. He wasn't given a choice with his own marriage, but he's giving her one. That also means that he'll give her the choice to date someone if that's what really what makes her happy. He knows what it's like to be forbidden from being with the one you love, so he wouldn't do the same to her.

The fact that he mentions that she's too young is what really gets me. He was even younger when he was forced to get married than she is currently...

I don't think people who accuse Stolas of being a neglectful father actually care about victims of child neglect. They're often the same people defending Stella's behavior towards her and insisting that we don't know for sure that she's a bad mom

The thing that bugs me about the argument that Stolas was too absorbed in the show to care that Via was missing is that not only does he ONLY calm down when Blitz sends Loona after her, but by the end, he looks like he wants to be anywhere BUT there

He only laughed at one joke

I can't believe that there are people who think that Stolas actually hates Stella more than he loves Via

I can understand with Via because she doesn't know the full story, but the audience should know damn well that he put up with Stella's abuse for almost 2 decades just so his daughter can be happy

I hope that Blitz and Via have a meaningful 1 on 1 interaction and arc. It's so sad that Via is afraid that Stolas will abandon her for him. There's enough room for both of them and Stolas shouldn't have to choose one over the other

One of my favorite headcanons is that Stolas is absolutely terrified of the thought of Via growing up to be like Stella

"We don't know Via and Stella's canon relationship yet because we haven't seen them interact."
