Anyway, real story - my best friend's bf printed out these two dragons for me and I just got around to colouring the sillies. And man :( I wish I had a finer brush to paint in the eyes and such but I really love this so much. Not perfect colouring, messy around the edges, but man...MAN. It doesn't matter cause I love it sm. I also love this gold acrylic color, used a bit for Ratio's "laurel" and Jien's horns, I can't wait to use the color on Jien's spear.

Yeah! I made Jien's spear irl too! Did it over the summer but never got around to showing it. I'll show it once it has been painted <3

More Jientio, this time as that recently popular meme of this boyfriend making a cookie in the likeness of his gf✨

Just thinking of how Jien's nihilism isn't just all negative and wholly meaningless, not in a hopeless way at least(although a lot of the times her story does portray it as such) but more so like a blank piece of paper or a blank canvas. It's meaningless if nothing is done with it, it is waiting to be given meaning (something Jien struggles with after having lost..well everything). She can turn it into a masterpiece, give it beauty and meaning and depth, or she could give it horror, depression...etc

This also ties quite well with the fact her powers are derived of a similar thing. She materliazes objects from the sketches she draws, making them useful in one way or another, and giving them meaning beyond the piece of paper they've been put on. Sometimes even a silhouette of an object is enough.

No in between indeed, although that scale could switch some days. Proxy would definitely try tricks around Hawkmoth while playing the charmer if she sees some gain from it and I don't see Hawkmoth being too much different.

"Treading starlight"

A little doodle that ended up not looking like just a doodle. Also made me think about how the little kids, foxians and young Vidyadhara hatchlings think of Jien. Playing around with the idea of it but basically the kids end up with these stories of the "starry dragoness".

The story of a dragon that came suddenly to them from outside of their Alliance, from some faraway star. And now she guards them when they're out and about the Xianzhou Luofu. She's strict, but she keeps them safe, she teaches them what she knows too, she guides them like the North star.

The gifts she gives them are all shimmery at first and pale gold with a golden seam before it fades into another material, they think it is all made of starlight. They treasure the gifts even more as they grow. Maybe she's made of starlight as well! Or maybe they're all children of the stars, but it is her alone who has a hard time leaving behind that ancestral home and the little habits of it? Maybe she just misses home and there's not much they can offer as comfort, but they can be with her and tell her about how they colored the trees the wrong color and misspelled a word or made their parents proud and she'll remember it all. <3

Bet y'all didn't know I used to animate stuff before

I was feeling nostalgic and went a bit through my old DA account and found these, I thought I'd share for a bit since I still really like this and sort of miss this time in my art career.

First is an old design for a dragon character I scrapped, honestly you could consider it an old design for Jien's current dragon form since I always had a vision for it but was never able to execute it as well, I never really liked the old designs too much.

Second one is my DC OC Volkov or Agent 43, a character that honestly got me through a lot and a character by whom a lot of people now know me as Agent. I don't use her as much but she has her spot on my Toyhouse with other meaningful OCs of mine.

Both of these are from around 2019-2020.

Decided to hop onto this old trend with my traumatized pookies. I don't draw Proxy nearly as enough but idc she's awful anyway

Just a doodled coloured sketch, tbh I think it turned out pretty cool. I do hope I can execute all the lore ideas I have in my head with these two, however long that may take.

The most fun thing I've been thinking about like a fan theory (as I'm my OCs biggest fan frfr) is that the whole "Proxy is out there being evil twin of me" is a whole big mind break on Jien's side. Basically, Proxy does not exist, and Jien has made it all up as a result of her trauma from being basically....blown from her own world through a black hole or some shit. And I'm imagining it as if she's in game and - "we" never actually see Proxy "on screen". Jien barely talks about it since she wants to keep it all hidden too. And all the stuff that happens can be written off as the actions of Sanctus Medicus or some else, they're all terrible and have done terrible things. And Jien is now set on finding this alter ego of hers before it causes more people harm, not knowing she's actually going in circles chasing herself.

Theory: Jien has gone insane. She's going mad crazy, spiraling.
