Okay friends and Black Sails fans, I am totally going to make your day

So in my lengthy search of non fanfic erotica on the interwebs (long story) I have come across a story that I am becoming increasingly convinced was inspired in some way by Black Sails. It is a historical m/m romance between a pirate and a navy lieutenant named Thomas (yes) serving as a liaison (yes) on board a privateer ship. They have a beautiful, sweet, gentle and incredibly soft yet amazingly kinky relationship, but there’s also adventure and intrigue and I just don’t have the words to convey the combination of hotness, pirates, plot, and well-written, negotiated, explicitly consensual sex/kink that is this book.

It’s like a $5 e-book on Amazon Kindle, it is entitled The Puritan Pirate and I highly, highly recommend it for anyone who’s run out of Black Sails fic to read.

And once you’ve read it come talk to me about it because it has no tag and no fandom and no anything and I have FEELINGS

(also if anyone cares the first chapter reminds me a lot of a certain kinky Flinthamilton fic. Just sayin’)

Anonymous asked:

is black sails actually gay or is it just queer baiting?? (ive never seen the show so idk if this is a stupid question or not!!!!)

(It’s alright, it’s not a stupid question:))

This show doesn’t do queerbaiting \o/. Not once. All lgbt characters and relationships are 100% canon and beautiful. There are 4 main characters + 2 minor characters who are not straight - 2 gay/bi men, 1 lesbian, and 3 bi ladies (1 of them could also very well be a lesbian but she’s a minor character so we don’t know). Between these characters there are 3 f/f, 1 m/m, and 2 polyamorous (f/f/m & m/m/f) relationships. They’re all explicit, well written, and deeply meaningful relationships that are relevant to and actually drive the plot (there is one f/f ship that’s more like no strings attached tho). The show relies heavily on character/relationship development so these things are treated carefully and respectfully by the writers. There are a few non-canon ships, one of them (m/m) has a huge potential to become canon now (imo) because the show’s developed their relationship in a really interesting and compelling way, and since the writers don’t shy away from lgbt representation (still kinda debatable in m/m case) it would make sense if it happened. But if it doesn’t, I still wouldn’t call it queerbaiting (unless they really give me reason to in s4). So far we got what we were promised. :)
