Uhhh please go listen to this. I stumbled on this gem the other day and my heartttt. Lost Elf is such a beautiful piece of music, but the added piano makes it like a 1,000,000x better. Give the creator some love!
also, on the Inqy-Dirthamen topic- do you think they became a host when they were thrown into the fade at the conclave?
Honestly? While they could have become a host at that time, I think more along the lines of Dirthamen either took over the body or made the person from scratch using one of the died-at-the-Conclave backgrounds.
I always take note of when the character creation screen is placed within the story. In both Origins and DA2, the character creation screen takes place before the game even starts. Origins CC is before you ever see your character. DA2 CC lets you choose class/gender (then Varric tries to start with his story version, Cassandra catches him, and then you’re allowed to customize). Inquisition, however, starts with the explosion and then creating your Inquisitor WHILE IN THE FADE. You never play them before the Conclave and never get to play through anything related to their background.
I don’t know if you’ve every heard of/played a game called Xenoblade Chronicles X? (If not, spoilers)
I was looking through your posts and I saw in a note that you think the Inqy might be a host of Dirthamen. I thought that interesting because I actually have a theory that the Inqy is either/or a reincarnation/descendant of Andraste, and some people have speculated that Andraste was the OGB of Dirthamen's soul.
I think at minimum something very strange and highly connecting to Dirthamen is going on in the game. He pops up way to frequently in game (or is suspiciously absent while by all narrative purposes he SHOULD be there) for it to be coincidence.
At the very least you have Nightmare (who is confirmed by Cole AND Solas to be an advanced Fear demon, which is one of Dirthamen’s ravens), and whose realm in the Fade is COVERED in bird statues (which I speculated in one post are raven statues). Nightmare is also narratively present when the Inquisitor went into/came out of the Fade at the beginning of the game and is the one who took your memories, supposedly.
Then on top of that you have Envy, who by all narrative descriptions is called Deceit. Who spies on you in the form of a raven AND all the ravens hovering around Therinfall Redoubt. (And on top of that there’s been recovered dialogue that seems related to a post- Therinfall Redoubt quest where you are exhibiting raven like behaviors)
Not to mention the Dead Hand puzzle suspiciously relating to Dirth, the scattered glyphs puzzle (which the Inq understands EVEN WHEN THEY’RE NON-Elvhen AND without Solas present), the lack of bad stories connected to Dirth, the lack of Dirth in Falon’Din/his twin related stories, the stabbed Dirth statue in the Fade RIGHT ABOVE Flemythal/Kieran,…….
