There’s this quote in Ned’s pov, that he kinda compare Robert with Rhaegar in terms of women. Because Robert was a fuckman, you know, he was always in brothels, so he wondered himself if rhaegar had frequented brothels and he answered himself right away with “no.” This one:

“For the first time in years, he found himself remembering Rhaegar Targaryen. He wondered if Rhaegar had frequented brothels; somehow he thought not.” 

Rhaegar was known as the most beautiful and desirable man in the 7K, so, gettin women wouldn’t be a problem, but he wasn’t like that. Rhaegar was actually described as a weirdo when he was a kid. he prefered to stay reading books than go and play with kids. 

There’s stories about aerys fucking other women, but there’s not even one story about rhaegar (except lyanna’s, but that’s different). So, that tells you that he was sorta shy around woman, just like Jon.

We have to separate things. Jon tvshow is just like Ned, he’s his cloon. But in books, Jon is nothing like Ned, the only thing he got from him, is his look (and that’s for Lyanna actually). Jon book couldn’t be more Targaryen because it would be too obvious. I think it was brillian of GRRM to make Jon look like a Stark and act and think like a Targaryen. The only thing we know about Rhaegar was that he was brooding/emo, inspiring, shy around women, broke his vows for love, he was good, he was a good warrior, but still, he died. Loved music and books and he cared about the long night most than anything. So, the only thing Jon doesn’t have of his father apart from his look, it’s the love for music and books, the rest…just like him.

EMOTIONAL. lol. Rhaegar would love him with all his heart. Jon would be the son he had with the woman he loves. They would be a powerful and adorable family.
