the worst part about studying languages is knowing that you will never be nearly as good at it as a literal baby

The only reason babies are better at language learning is because it’s their full time job and they don’t get embarrassed

If you, a teenaged or adult human, wasn’t embarrassed and could study language full time you would learn way faster than a baby.

In my defense, babies receive more positive reinforcement than I do as well. Babies will say ha ba bah dah ba hah and all the adults around them will be like 🤯 really? Wow 😱 that is so interesting 😁 great job! 🤗 and then what happened? 🤔

☆ it has an enemies-to-reluctant-allies-to-lovers romance! I REPEAT RELUCTANT ALLIES TO LOVERS!!!!!!!!

☆ it subverts the whole bad-boy-good-girl trope too by making the heroine a powerful dark sorceress

☆ honestly it's like a genderbend Hades-and-Persephone-romance

☆ the mc El possesses dark powers strong enough to level mountains and wipe out millions, she only supresses her powers because she doesn't want to kill every fucking student

☆ the school's celebrated golden boy Orion on the other hand is her exact opposite: while El can destroy all good things he can destroy all bad things

☆ honestly I don't know about y'all but I love heroines who pretend to be weak, only to knock the others off their high horse when they finally reveal their true powers

☆ okay I lied there are probably also friendships in the book but you know what that means? CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT for our heroine!!!

I'm still alive. Real life has been crazy and honestly covid-19 is just making me wanna be online less and less. I'm a social worker ans have a nursing assistant education too which I have put to use these past few months to help where I can. So coming online to see people say covid is just a flu, people that refuse to wear masks, people that put economy over human life, people that's gonna make a very tough few years last longer and be even tougher... it's not really what I need so I haven't been online much.

That and my dad was in a car crash due to fainting and needed a pacemaker so there is that too. I'll try and check in more and maybe update some fics once the heatwave we are in the middle off cools down enough that it doesn't deepfry my brain if I try and think too hard 😉
