I also blog about many of my other fandoms. No sideblogs, we die like fangirls here: Other British detectives such as Lewis, Endeavour, Morse, Grantchester, Midsomer Murders.... served with a side dish of Lucifer, SPN, Marvel movies & series and whatever else comes to mind and feels like it deserves a place on my blog. My obsessions change more often than the seasons and I have no control over my shitty little brain. I'm sorry but if you followed me, you'll have to deal with A LOT!

Tumblr goes Hollywood – The Oscar Competition 2015

THE RESULTS

As promised here now some of the results of the tumblr Oscar competition. You wanna know, who would have won an Oscar if tumblr was on the jury???

There you go:

Out of 39 Votes …

Only 5 participants predicted the correct Best Picture (Birdman). If tumblr was the Academy the Oscar for Best Picture would have gone to Boyhood with 15 votes.

Best Director did go to Alejandro González Iñárritu. Tumblr results were pretty close to this: Richard Linklater (13 votes) won with only one vote more than Iñárritu (12 votes)

Best Actor was won by Eddie Redmayne Tumblr obviously agreed with the Academy here. About 2/3 of tumblr votes did go to Eddie (25 votes) For the record: Benedict Cumberbatch received 10 votes.

But tumblr did agree with the Academy in several other categories, too (or lets say tumblr predicted what the Academy would vote for).

The majority of tumblr voted for the correct results in the following categories: Best Actress (Julianne Moore) Best Supporting Actor (J.K. Simmons) Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette) Best Adapted Screenplay (The Imitation Game) Best Original Song (Glory)

According to tumblr votes the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay would have gone to The Grand Budapest Hotel (19 votes). The Academy voted for Birdman (tumblr votes 11)

And finally: In the category for Best Original Score tumblr voted for Interstellar (14 votes), while the Academy choose The Grand Budapest Hotel (tumblr votes 11).
