Protecting your reality, douchebag!

What do you need to know about me? I’m in love with Benedict Cumberbatch and Sherlock Holmes in all his forms and incarnations. That much should be obvious, right? Right! I also blog about many of my other fandoms. No sideblogs, we die like fangirls here: Other British detectives such as Lewis, Endeavour, Morse, Grantchester, Midsomer Murders.... served with a side dish of Lucifer, SPN, Marvel movies & series and whatever else comes to mind and feels like it deserves a place on my blog. My obsessions change more often than the seasons and I have no control over my shitty little brain. I'm sorry but if you followed me, you'll have to deal with A LOT!

I’m howling

this is the equivalent of making a movie about a succubus and calling it SUCC

It’s actually slightly worse than that, because “chupa” isn’t just the verb “suck” – that would be “chupar”. “Chupa” is a verb inflection that reads one of two ways: when paired with a subject, it’s indicative (i.e., it describes an action being performed by its subject; hence, “chupacabra” = “goat-sucker”), but without an explicit subject, it becomes imperative. This film’s title is commanding you to suck.

You make a good ass point.

“…some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared.” How netflix can be shared? You can’t take people’s money for a service and then demand that they use it a certain way. it WILL be shared however the fuck we want to, because we’re paying for it.

These hoes really made 3.5 Billion Dollars off of subscriptions last year and still act like they ain’t getting enough 🙄

Okay but look up where they’re starting it bc the places they’re initiating this move are like…Costa Rica and Peru and shit lke… it’s giving Big Racism. Like they’re legit starting this shit on brown ppl to punish them for having families they share with.

Here’s an article that discusses how, exactly, Netflix might try to actually force people not to share their accounts. But this is the bit I found most interesting:

“The other side of the argument says that Netflix could lose millions of subscribers if it implements a strict policy. For instance, people who share an account and chip in to pay for the service may not find Netflix’s subscription worthwhile if they have to pay the total amount by themselves. Netflix is already one of the priciest streaming service options for consumers; limiting the ability to share would essentially raise the price further.”

And:

“The expense for Netflix is the opportunity cost: How much more revenue could it bring in if it restricted account sharing to a more substantial degree? In reality, Netflix does not know the answer to this question. It has not tried this before, and there is no telling if the total of new signups versus cancellations will result in higher revenue.”

Personally, I’m a big fan of VPNs and bittorrent. If you live in Chile, Peru, or Costa Rica, here is a write up (from Dec 2021) for how to check, and hide, your region from Netflix. This also works if you’re just looking for content that Netflix streams in a different country than your own. (Here’s a 2022 guide, in case the other article isn’t helping you for some reason, altho it recommends ExpressVPN and I do not).

If youre interested, here’s an explanation for how Netflix tries to get around VPNs (cheaper VPNs are easier. Persobally, I use Nord and never have a problem with Netflix).

“And bring on more of Benedict Cumberbatch, too, please. He’s terrific in everything he’s in and while The Grinch obviously appeals to a different demographic than say Sherlock or his MCU work, it’s still worth a watch.”

Netflix’s White Stork Starring Tom Hiddleston Is Greenlit + Casting Now in the UK

Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition.

White Stork

Tom Hiddleston is to star in Netflix’s upcoming thriller White Stork, following an aspiring politician who tries to keep his past a secret while running for a seat in Parliament. Shooting begins this summer in London for all 10 episodes, with Kristoffer Nyholm (Taboo) directing. Casting director Gary Davy is attached and casting now.

British production company Eleven is behind the new series. It’s not their first collaboration with Netflix – the firm is also behind the streamer’s hit Sex Education, but it all forms part of a major upswing in Netflix’s UK operations including a new deal with Equity for actors and a partnership with BAFTA to sponsor the Breakthrough Brits as evidenced by their huge new production base at Shepperton Studios. All of which is, of course, great news for actors.

How active is your participation going to Netflix's adaptation of the Sandman?

Avatar

Very active. One of the things that made Sandman attractive as a project to Warners and to Netflix was that I’d be overseeing it and making sure that it felt like Sandman, in the same way that Good Omens felt like Good Omens. I’m working with the showrunner, I co-wrote the first episode, all the outlines and scripts are coming through me (and my notes on them and suggestions are being acted on) I’m seeing all the audition videos and so on.

So less than Good Omens, but a lot more than, say, American Gods.
