IMAGINE:
Seeing Bucky for the first time in months.
A small smile plays on his lips until he realizes that you don’t make a move towards him. You aren’t sure what to do or say to the man you’d fallen in love with but had let disappear out of your life. You let him go for a good reason but you still won’t deny the pain it had caused you. As much as you hated it, your guard was up.
“Do I look that bad?” he questioned.
“Bucky...”
He holds his hand up to stop you from continuing. “It’s okay. I know it’s been hard for you. I can’t imagine what I put you through.”
“Don’t blame yourself. We both chose this. You needed it and it looks like it was a good decision.”
He looks down at himself, “Yeah, I think it was. I feel more like myself than I have in decades.”
“And has it changed anything for you about me?”
“Y/N” he takes a step towards you. “Nothing could change how I feel about you. The little I’ve been awake, I’ve been aching for you. I’ve wanted nothing more than to have you here with me. I love you. I’ve wanted nothing more than to be with you.”
Your guard drops at the words he gently speaks to you. The man you love still loves you and that’s all you needed to hear. You cross the short distance and wrap your arms around him. He relaxes into your body holding you tightly.
“I love you too Bucky.”
