Mark Hamill directs + plays Space Invaders + stage fright
I just came across these two interviews (the 1st video has some non-related, extra commercials and stuff from the 80s at the end). Both of these were appearances on ABC's program 'Kids are People Too' in the 1980s.
The first one has Mark Hamill playing a hilarious game of Space Invaders against the current champ of the 80s.
In the second one, Mark shows off his director skills by directing a small play between acting students.
I appreciate the part of the interview where he shares that he has stage fright, as well as some of his tips for overcoming it. I know a few years ago, in an interview, he mentioned doing breathing exercises to help calm down before going on stage.
The fact that he thought that it was just him (the stage fright) until meeting other actors who felt the same way...
It's a good reminder that we're never alone.
