For readers in the USA, some publishers (including mine) just raised the minimum discount on wholesale titles to 40%!  This means that retail prices will go up (but maybe “on sale” prices will go down--my royalties definitely are practically negative).  For my USA release of Death Coach, this means the suggested retail will increase from $8.99 to $10.49 ON SEPTEMBER 22nd.  So if you are planning on buying a copy for everyone for the holidays, do it early 😁

Last song: Everything in my life has a backstory. I was sitting in a restaurant & and Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks played. Since I was on a deck overlooking the ocean, I thought no one would notice if I started arranging additional harmonies, which means I needed to sing along. I looked up and the waitress & manager were standing off to the side, listening as I was taking notes. She said, “keep going, it sounds great”. Singing is a life-long passion.

Currently Watching: TV is a series of contemplations for me. It’s not something I partake in, regularly, but I have my binge sessions. Since my recent health episode, I seem to have lost that lovin’ feeling for Star Wars. I am hoping to re-kindle the moment by re-watching OT with focus on lesser characters like Veers & Piett, who seem popular these days.

Currently Reading: Death Coach @deathcoach by Morgan Rivers in preparation for an Asker’s Studio interview. No Prisoners by Karen Traviss, because I always like a side of brain candy when I am taking on heavier material: The Apache Wars, by Paul Andrew Hutton. A cultural exploration into the land and people of which I descended from (Apache & Dine are closely related). The Fifty-Year Mission by Mark A. Altman & Edward Gross. Because I never get enough Star Trek (thanks for the recommendation @seikilos-stele)

Current Obsession: it’s not deep, folks: My kitten. I’m still recovering from a heart attack, so obsession is not high on the list right now 🤣
