Bonwit, Teller & Co. - Bathing Suit Styles

Among women who preferred to swim (as opposed to simply “bathe”), the maillot was by far the most popular style, especially after the famous Australian swimmer Annette Kellerman was arrested for indecency, when she wore the style on a Boston beach.
