I’ve been so tired lately that last night I had a dream of sleepily posting on this blog and ending up with an incomprehensible mess of posts. Four posts to be exact.

Two were the Exact Same screenshot of UY that were literally just Usagi’s closed eyes. Literally back to back.

The third was Leonardo’s eyes from the 2k3 shorts they did after the show finished.

And the fourth was a text post that was complete nonsense. I don’t remember the exact wording but it was something like “gonna it Usagi never” Just those four words. Nothing else.

I clearly need to get more sleep before I start posting goddamn runes on here

I get engaged and suddenly almost every WIP I’m working on I’m having Leonardo call Usagi his fiancé all over the place. Seriously, there’s one fic where he just thinks it over and over again like a lovestruck dork.

Fic where Leonardo has to do some questionable shit/break a slew of Splinter rules to rescue Usagi and during these shenanigans his brothers are like “Who are you and what have you done with Leo?”

And Leo probably responds with some kind of cool and righteous speech but then summarizes that with a shrug and “Be gay, do crime.”

And they just stare at him for a good ten silent seconds before Raph finally says. “Man, we woulda got ya a boyfriend way sooner if we knew that’d actually make ya fun.”

There’s always been this thing I’ve wanted to explore somewhere when it comes to the Leosagi battle couple idea. And that’s that neither of them see it coming. Sure they spar, sure they fight together, but it isn’t until they’re ambushed by foot or neko ninja or Something that they realize it. Probably before either of them actually confess.

They just each ready their swords and then they’re flowing together, predicting every move, every cut, every duck and parry and dodge. And their attackers go down, one by one, until they’re both standing there, panting. They see the carnage they have wrought together and Leonardo realizes he has only fought like this with his brothers. Usagi can’t remember if he’s ever fought with someone like that before. Tomoe Ame maybe. And from there they both slowly sink into the gentle, italicized oh of understanding.

Neither of them say anything right then, but after that the wheel has begun to turn and it’s only a matter of time.

Honestly Usagi Miyamoto is the best kind of character cause he’s just a little guy. Just a little bunny. He’s got big floppy ears and a cute twitchy nose and soft, fuzzy fur and little bunny pawbs. He’s undeniably adorable!

And he has killed in cold blood before. He will do it again. He’s fought in wars, seen people closest to him die horrible deaths, been consumed by rage and vengeance. He’s a grizzled old soldier with a 100 yard stare and the fastest draw speed in old Edo.

But! He’s got a cute wittle floofy bunny face yes he does yes he does!

That kind of dichotomy is just peak character design.

I rewatched Rogue in the House today and I love my dumb turtle son but hearing Leo go “If you had honor Karai, you wouldn’t serve The Shredder” had me in HYSTERICS. There’s a Whole Adventure this bitch’s bunny boyfriend goes through where the thing Usagi takes away is ‘A truly honorable samurai serves his lord even if he’s a shit person’ and I just.

If Karai was truly following Bushido she would have killed your ass you dummy!!!! I CAN HEAR USAGI SCREAMING IN THE DISTANCE!!!!!!! YOU AND KARAI ARE BOTH NINJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve had the first three issues of WhereWhen for a hot minute and still haven’t read them but. Gonna do that this weekend. Possibly tonight.

Ada-1 calls him over comms. Something about a newly forged sword he would want a look at. Inspired by a blade carried by Uldren Sov. He doesn’t know how much he likes the idea of using something related to Cayde’s killer, but Ada insists, saying she knows he appreciates the older ways of combat. She also adds something about a new spin on the old ways, and Leonardo honestly has no clue what to make of that.
