I caught up on IDW tmnt and idk how to feel anymore. I'm still mad about Slash but like. I like the direction things are headed and there's some hints here and there that suggest things might get even better going forward. I still don't think I'll start buying them again unless they make one of the turtles queer.

If Nick can get Usagi in the 2k12 show they should be able to get him in the IDW comic like seriously. At least like give the writers from IDW a chance to give Sakai a script or something.
I’ve seen a couple posts defending Alopex’s new design and ultimately the fact that she’s an arctic fox plays a pretty huge role in her characterization and growth as a person in the comics. And sets up this really excellent visual theme, because whenever Alopex is drawn in a snowy environment she’s both dealing with her own shortcomings/mistakes and trying to reconnect with a past that she never really knew. And whenever she leaves that space she comes out a new improved individual. It’s great, interesting storytelling and the fact that the 2k12 writers have already taken that away from her does not bode well for how they’ll write her character. It’s just overall disappointing, because all that design tells me is that they’re going to ruin another one of my faves because the writers they have just don’t know what they’re doing.

The biggest flaw of the IDW comics is they gave Raph another female love interest for whatever reason. I mean... I might like half forgive them if Alopex does ultimately end up with Angel but man he’s had the most girlfriends he just really, really doesn’t need another one.

Do you think I could like pull some reverse psychology on the IDW staff and send them a really shitty letter about how Slash and Mikey's relationship had to much gay subtext. Like be really mean about it. And then they'd go. "Fuck this guy! We're gonna actually make them gay." I'd try anything at this point honestly.

I find it hard to believe that Sally Pride calling Mikey and Slash “bosom buddies” was a coincidence. I think she’s one of the few Mutanimals who noticed that Slash’s admiration for Mikey was developing (or developed) into romantic feelings, and was hoping Slash would say something to him (hence why she got rid of Pete before re-introducing the two, and casually stepped out when they started talking)
I also think Mondo Gecko knew about Slash’s crush, and was also hoping they would get together. I mean look at his face during this panel:

I suppose that is a possibility, but honestly supporting the artists who make the comic is never a bad thing. It sucks to have to pay for them but yeah they gotta make a living too.
