Where I write Star Wars, return to my artistic roots, and appreciate tall ships. In between wrangling muses I have a day job and adore baking. I’m on ao3 as wishfulthinking1979.

Why friend, it would be a pleasure, thank you!!

What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

Haha. My top tags usually fill this in too. I am a creature of habit. But you know how I feel about friendship. I think that's my topmost one. Even when I write a romance, I always begin with the friendship aspect and build on that. We call that slow burn in our circles, I know, but I also think it's just a better way to go. The insta passion stuff can happen---I don't deny--but I enjoy reading slow burn and friendship building more. So I write it.

I also love bromance tremendously, so my characters consistently demonstrate their loyalty and care for each other in my work.

While I enjoy fluff in it's place, I like to put my people THROUGH it more. I enjoy my heroes and heroines having to really struggle in various ways, because the pay off is sweeter. So I'm usually writing adventure fics or drama, etc over fluffy fics because I like to develop that. I sprinkle comfort and fluff in, of course, but it's not the main theme.

What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

Hmm. I've written a fair bit, so I have to ponder this. xD I think it would have to be something that is consistent with a character throughout my fics. And that is developing Piett's little physical habits a character. So he straightens his spine when he's facing difficult things. He lifts his chin when there's a challenge. He runs a hand through his hair because he's self conscious about curls. He tugs his uniform jacket because the uniform is his armor and he needs it to be perfect. He flushes when people compliment him because he doesn't know how to receive praise.

What's your favorite AU that you've written?

Gack. That's hard. I mean technically all my work is AU. xD However, if we go with my OWN AUs outside of Empire Reimagined....Yeah still hard. LOL. How about this----at the MOMENT [subject to change]---I'd need to go with The Dragon Speaker. I am pleased with my word craft and world building for that fic. It was my first of only two true fantasies I've written, and I am pleased with it. Also, it was so very fun to have the Lady as a dragon and equip all my people with swords and magic and so on.

What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

I'm copy/pasting my answer to this from another lovely reader.

Oh this is easy I’m glad to say. I ADORE Frodogenic’s Meet The Skywalkers AU. The author allows the Executor and everyone on it to survive but they get lost for 25 years and have to get back to known space. It’s hilarious and in line with Zahn’s work. I adore the odd couple friendship Built between Vader and his Admiral. I can’t recommend the story enough.

Thank you friend!

Thank you friend! These questions are fun to think about!

What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

I would have to go with In The Trenches We Find Our Friends. It is the beginning of my Empire Reimagined series and sets up the characters that a reader will get to know in all my work. My favorite guys—-my brotp—- are General Veers and Admiral Piett and this story sets up the reader for their adventures in the series but also how I write them in all my other AUs.

Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

I think I did a decent job in Rebellions Are Built On Hope. I really enjoyed diving into Axxila and how Piett and Leia built their life there. (He adopts her as a baby in this fic) It was fun painting the city and their home with words.

How do you decide what to write?

Aha. This assumes I am in any way in control of my muses. This is kind of you, but I’m definitely in the passenger seat clutching the dash. 😉

Ok, it is true that wonderful readers have given me many prompts over the years, and that really fuels my imagination. Other times, whumptober challenges grow into larger stories. And occasionally I actually sit down to ponder a new storyline for a series. I love doing history AUs and I enjoy ‘what if?’ Storylines which creates my Star Wars multiverse 😂

What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?
